Mytien Goldberg, MD, FACS

My journey began back in late 2019. On December 10, 2019, I was admitted to Harbor UCLA due to necrotizing fasciitis. I was in the hospital for quite some time, requiring multiple surgeries to save my left upper limb, but most importantly, my life. I had most of my left bicep removed due to the infection that was inside. Fortunately, my right upper extremity was saved. I had very limited mobility as you can imagine with the loss of muscle and extensive nerve damage. I am forever grateful to Dr. Goldberg. She has reconstructed my whole bicep and put my extremity back together, literally. After several surgeries, including skin grafts, scare tissue repairs, and nerve repair surgeries I have mobility back in my wrist, and I have finger extension. I cannot thank Dr. Goldberg and the whole team who helped save my life and my arm enough. Your expertise, professionalism and care you delivered has not only given me function back into my arm but has given me more reasons to live and enjoy all that life brings my way. I am so happy to have Dr. Goldberg as my surgeon. She is diligent,patient and a masterful microsurgeon. My case was complex. It involved breast reconstruction via diep flap, lymph node transfer and lymphovenous Bypass to resolve lymphedema from my first Cancer removal surgery. Dr. Goldberg is an excellent listener and offered me options when other surgeons were not interested in pursuing my case. I am thankful for her tenacity and her compassion. I can not leave this review without also thank her excellent team Vanessa and Seline. There professionalism and kindness made this journey so much easier.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 70 and thought I had no choice but to get a mastectomy and be completely flat chested. I came to Dr. Mytien Goldberg and she informed me that I was a great candidate for an Implant based reconstruction or an autologous tissue based breast reconstruction. I chose to get a Implant based reconstruction and the best part was that it was all done in one surgery! I went directly to implant and did not need any expanders. Of course, there is some pain but it's tolerable. And this whole journey has been worth it for the results. I wish I came to see Dr. Goldberg sooner and didn't wait 4 months to muster up the courage. She put me at ease and relaxed any fears i had about having the surgery and an implant. I'm currently still in my healing process and everything is looking great! I have complete confidence in Dr. Goldberg and would highly recommend her to others, young or old, breast cancer or not.

My experience with Dr. Goldberg and her staff was absolutely unmatched. They always went above and beyond to answer any questions/concerns I had. This was my 3rd breast augmentation due to the errors and complications of other surgeons. I had a pretty severe capsular contracture and double bubble. I was considering removing my implants for good until I had my consultation with Dr. Goldberg. She gave me the breasts that I had be dreaming about! I am 7 months post op and beyond happy with my results and so thankful for her and her entire team.

In addition to her many gifts as a plastic surgeon and microsurgeon, Dr. Goldberg is also a top hand surgeon. Thanks to her, I still HAVE a right hand -- and didn't die from a (freak) staph infection that very easily could've become septic. I was seen by three "top" hand doctors. ONLY Dr. Goldberg correctly diagnosed a life-threatening infection. Her staff jumped into action and contacted her at the hospital between (her long day of) surgeries. She drove back to her BH office (at 6:00 pm!) to see me (a first-time patient), impressed upon me how serious this was, got me admitted to a hospital, found a way to get me onto a tight surgery rotation--and performed surgery on my hand and wrist within 24 hours of first contacting her. Her staffand Vanessa in particulardeserve five stars for their competence, compassion and accessibility. Dr. Mytien Goldberg is truly a once in a lifetime medical professional: brilliant, skilled and a mighty advocate for her patients. I am so grateful to her. I'd give her ten stars if I could.
