Dr. Carroll Hughes, DDS

Our family's 20-year loyalty to Dr. Hughes' oral surgery practice in Bakersfield, California was met with an incredibly disappointing ordeal. After an arduous 8-month struggle to secure an appointment for my son's wisdom teeth extractions, we faced a series of mishaps caused by the practice's own errors, including office relocation, mishandled insurance paperwork, and unreturned phone calls. Despite enduring these setbacks, the breaking point came when our eagerly awaited appointment was abruptly canceled, catching us off guard. The reason cited was my inability to answer a phone call during job training, a circumstance beyond my control due to my employer's restrictions. Arriving on time and fully prepared for the procedure, we were shocked to be turned away despite no tardiness on our part. The office's refusal to consider our history of loyalty and reliability was deeply hurtful. It's disheartening that our decades-long commitment, referrals, and consistent adherence to appointments were discarded over a phone call issue, leaving us with a profound sense of disappointment and disillusionment. We are severing ties with this practice and will not be returning as they do not seem to value loyal customers and repeat business.

I got my wisdom teeth taken out here and everyone here was so kind and made me feel like I was in good hands. I didnt feel anything, they made sure it was a pain free procedure. Of course there is no avoiding the recovery pain, but I feel like this is as good of an experience I could of had getting my wisdom teeth taken out. Thank you so much Dr. Hughes and staff. My husband said I left there saying I love them so much, I only remember getting home and falling asleep, but the way they took care of me I have no doubt I said that :)

I dont recommend this dentist office to anyone my son was referred here out of Visalia to pull his wisdom teeth out n it was the worse experience ever my son was transferred to memorial hospital here in Bakersfield due to the dr n staff members not being able to control his bleeding he was gushing out blood like crazy unbelievable I wish I was able to share the videos I took of my son while in there care its then u would know on how upsetting this is he bleed for 45 mins before paramedics got to him so uncalled for very scary and for to come out and tell me they dont know why he is bleeding so much or what happen how in the world r u gonna tell me you all dont know what happen if he was in your care plus what is worse is that all this was going on with my son n they not let me know till the paramedics got to him seriously how are you guys gonna not tell me till paramedics get to him Im one upset concerned mother I just dont ever wish this would happen to anyone else its such a scary experience ever my son lost so much blood thank our father god he is doing ok yeah we r still here in the hospital but he is doing good thk god please if you decide to come to get any time of work from this office hopefully everything goes good

Did not meet the Dr. Because I never got the chance. they took forever to just make an appt. even tho I told them I was in so much pain. They messed up my paperwork twice never even got the appt. for extraction booked I had to go to another Dr. To get the job done.... And the assistants where rude and don't even care that your in pain they never even faxed my meds had to see another doctor for that also. I would never go there again rather go to Dr. Stephen.
