I am so blessed to have found Jim on google. I googled child abandonment lawyer in Bakersfield because I needed a good one because this was going to be complex. I read the reviews all of them and checked his website and booked a consultation. From the beginning Jim and Andrea were amazing people, very polite and knowledgeable. Jim gathered information from me and took his time to actually listen to me and then told me his credentials and could tell from his energy and demeanor that he was the type of attorney that was actually fight for not me but for my son. Fight he did do and communication was amazing from the beginning. Retainer fee was so worth it to hire him. Jim is knowledgeable he always has what is in the best interest of the child although he did not represent my son in my case he did keep him in mind the whole way. Because of him taking me and my case seriously we won it! I recommend him if you want someone to actually fight for you while caring for you as well.

Called to possibly hire this office for family law help, the associate who answered the phone said I shouldve hired an attorney before the court hearing that they dont clean up the mess. Very rude and unprofessional in my opinion. I wouldnt recommend calling this office. Remarks like that arent necessary or needed.

In 2011, I had a nasty custody battle and was thrown into court on an ex parte. I was young and didn't want to go into court alone. Word of mouth led me to Mr. Canaday. Well, I wasn't disappointed when he came in with his superman cape and handled business like a boss! He eased my mind and his staff quickly became my emotional support team throughout the whole process. This was a battle that lasted about a year long and I walked out a champ. Well, my story doesn't stop there. Fast forward to 2023.... I contacted Jim AGAIN (yes, he's that good) for more issues with my child's father. When I called to get an appointment, Jim and his staff still remembered me! They treat you like family and are VERY professional. Jim is very experienced & thorough. He knew what potential issues might occur so he made sure to put up all the road blocks. We were in and out of court leaving nothing behind but gold medals.
