Boost Mobile is a wireless mobile telecommunications company based in the United States, founded in 2002. Boost offers wireless phone and text services, mobile internet access, and prepaid services without an annual contract. The company operates over 500 stores nationwide and an online store and call center.

The Boost Mobile brand was launched on November 15, 2001, by Advanced American Telephones Inc., which was authorized to use the name by its original owner General Instrument Corporation while they were using it themselves exclusively on their cell phones. Boost Mobile was chosen because it was a nod to the slogan "Boost Your Reception."

In 2005, the brand became part of Alltel Wireless and was re-launched under new management. In 2006, Boost Mobile acquired a majority stake in Advanced Wireless Communications, including its Virgin Mobile USA subsidiary, acquired later in 2007. Boost Mobile's competitors include Virgin Mobile (an operating brand of Sprint Corporation), MetroPCS, Assurance Wireless, and Cricket Communications.

In February 2009, Boost Mobile announced a partnership with Google and Virgin Mobile USA, including an exclusive arrangement that allowed the Google Android-based Virgin Mobile phones to be pre-loaded with the Google Android mobile operating system. The agreement will help boost the sales of both companies and boost android's popularity in the United States.

The agreement was terminated on September 30, 2010, after about 18 months. Boost, Mobile phones could not use Google Mobile Services at that time. On October 18, 2010, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA announced a nationwide partnership between the two companies to bring Google mobile services back to Virgin devices.

Boost Mobile was a subsidiary of Sprint Corporation but was sold on January 6, 2012, to the Telefónica Group. The company was rebranded as Sprint's prepaid brand, Boost Mobile.
