It's always very scary for family members to call a facility where their loved one is and they refuse to answer the phone no matter what extension you choose you cannot get somebody to answer the phone.

Great staff, everyone is so helpful and nice. Can't say enough about how everyone has been so good to my mother while she was recovering from surgery and doing physical Therapy.
David and everyone in physical Therapy are wonderful and always encouraging.

If you are looking for an assisted care center for rehabilitation fom an injury or chronic condition you should consider La Canada Care Center. It is located on the southeast corner at the intesction of Magee Road and La Canada Rd in northwest Tucson.
I broke a hip on November 29, 2023. I am a slow healer and do not recover easily so it took some time to find a place where I could recover at my own pace. But with help from patient and caring therapists, CNAs, janitors, food service, and other vital support staff LCCC was my healing oasis after 3 prior "misfits" with other caregivers.
By using group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions, psychological checkups by contracted mental health professional, social worker, and case management I was home in good shape when my goals were met for going home.
Any one can build a list of complaints after being hurt and having to leave home for rehabilitation. Food will be different to accommodate all the clients. Routines such as dispensing medications on time require organization. Rules and regulations require organization and planning. With a an acute client problem these routines are easily disrupted and another client may see a wait resulting as a grievance to add to their list. This will happen anywhere, but I found the LCCC staff were very active trying to fix any "issues" if they were given the knowledge of them and time to do so.
Formal scheduled checks and informal ones on clients help the process. The focus is on caring for people first, with rehabilitation being part of the process. It is not "patch 'em quickly and get 'em out the door" or shift a vulnerable person around to keep the money flowing.
LCCC is a "Care [Caring]Center" with caring personnel at all levels. Visit and talk with staff. Stand in the door of either the Physical Rehab gym or the Occupational Rehab gym and watch. Observe a client practice with a walker in a corridor with a therapist encouraging and instructing them. You will pick up on the culture very quickly. Whether you need to be there for awhile, or a loved one does, LCCC is a great place to check out and compare its "culture" to other possible places to make a good judgment as my wife and I did.
This is a totally voluntary review, a few days later than planned, and I understand differing opinions. Highly touted other places were no help to me but LCCC certainly was.

My husband has been at La Canada Care Center for almost 2 months. In that time we have come to know the staff from hall way 4 well and the daily workings of the facility. The facility is clean, light, and welcoming. The staff is the best part. People have a job for two reasons one is for the money and the other is because they have a calling. All of these people are willing to help and answer questions to the very best of their ability. Therapy staff is wonderful at perceiving needs and getting you ready for the outside world. I will leave a list at the end of those we have met with a calling, the ones that really care.
You have heard about the terrible food at care homes. The Chef here does an excellent job of making the menu varied and good. The daily soup is tremendous and I am known to have lunch with my husband daily just for a bowl of the soup! They also have an ice cream bar with a choice of 3 or more flavors from 1:30 to 2:00 daily.
The names are in alphabetical order because they are all the BEST! Abi, Ahmed, Amy, Donovan, Jocelyn, Kayla, Norma, Rachel, Sam, Sara, Stacy I'm sure there are more but we mostly know the staff from hall 4.
