They built a nice house thanks to the sub contractors. However, Fairway Homes West made building our AZ home a complete nightmare. The fact the our site contractor quit within the first 6 months, due to not being able to deal with the company anymore should have been a sign. We had a total of 6 project managers as they all quit the company. At one point our project was being overseen by someone in an office in Tacoma Washington. Which was very poorly handled. Unfortunately, we had to deal with 2 people in Tacoma, neither of which should still have job. Phil Martinik and Terry Boyd based with Reality Homes in Washington were the definition of unprofessional and unreliable. From not taking our calls, not calling us back for weeks, being rude and disrespectful, and bad mouthing us to the project managers and sub contractors. We finally wrote a complaint to the owners of the company and got a little bit of traction, but it did not last long. It took over 6 months for the company to get a sub to pour the post tension slab. Due to ordering error from Terry, it took over 6 weeks to get the correct bath tub. Plumbing sub was waiting and the Washington office, kept sending the same tub with the wrong drain location, 3 times!! Every aspect of building our home went similarly. They did not order the flooring, so we waited for it for over 2 months. The counter tops, cabinets, roof tiles. I had to pick out new flooring, countertops, and carpet, and tile as all my phase 1 decisions were discontinued. They were so far past our project due date we had to reapply for our construction loan 3 times and reapply for building permits as Terry let them expire, without filing an extension in time. We finally took our project into our own hands and scheduled all our own subs and county inspections. Needless to say it took over 2 years to get the house completed. We did get to know couple of great guys who helped us immensely, neither of which work for Fairway anymore, Cary Black and Kerry Hamilton gave us great advice and helped us keep moving the project forward. My advice is to not build with Fairway Homes West. Now in saying that, we are happy with the home itself, but the staff and the company was absolutely a miserable experience.

I find it strange part of their advertising shows they build in my area? First they did but would charge and extra % on the price, then it turned into they dont build here. But still look at their website, they build in all of Yavapai County.

Fairway builds amazing homes at an incredible value. I cringe when I see the other reviews. I don't think any company can meet everyone's expectations and some of the comments don't even appear to be from a customer. We had the privilege of viewing several homes as well as other local builders. Fairway's homes are built so much better and for less money. Do not hesitate to buy. They will provide an incredible home, with amazing equity for a cost you can't beat! Services: Install flooring, Consultation, Remodeling

The worst experience I have ever had with a company in my life. My wife and I are located in Arizona, and started the building process with Fairway Homes West/Reality Homes in April of 2021. We decided to walk away from the project on 12/17/2021 after two price increases with another coming January 1st totaling $80,000, and because of the poor customer service we received from their Corporate office as well as from their sales representative Steve Hill. I'll start with Steve Hill. Steve is out of the Phoenix office. We reached out to him in February of 2021 and he refused to meet with us unless we had a prequalification letter. This is something their competitor does not require when you just want to get information. This should have been a red flag, but we overlooked it. My wife and I got the prequalification letter, and started the process with Steve. Steve said our home needed a site evaluation before we could sign a contract with Fairway, which would cost us $250. He requested that the money be paid in cash, and we obliged. We signed our contract at the end of April 2021. We were required to put down a non-refundable $5,000 deposit to Fairway as well as a $9,560 non-refundable deposit to their contractor which we did. Fast forward to November of 2021, and our pre-construction meeting. Steve was out of the state, so a representative from Tucson named Tory handled our pre-construction meeting. He informed us that the site evaluation was supposed to be included in the price of the contract. We reached out to Corporate to tell them that we were charged $250 for a site evaluation that was supposed to be included. It took Corporate four weeks to get back to us, and they concluded after talking to Steve Hill that this was a side deal and they would not get involved. This made no sense to my wife and I since the deal was made during company time and a company property, and for something that was a part of their contract. My wife and I reached out to Steve to try to get the money back, and he became very defensive and aggressive. He insulted both my wife and I, and he said that the money we paid was not for a site evaluation, but to make sure that the lot was buildable. I'm still not really sure what the difference is, but we reported our interaction with Steve to Corporate again with the text messages of him insulting us and they did nothing. Now on to Fairway Homes West. The contract that is signed by customers is heavily skewed in Fairway's favor. They do not have a cap, so they can increase the price as many times as they want, and for as much money as they want. They have something called a four month price guarantee, but that is a joke. It took them seven months to get us what we needed in order to start the loan process. The price is not locked in with Fairway until your site is cleared to their satisfaction. During our time with Fairway, it was clear that there was no sense of urgency on their part. Fairway took their time in responding to requests for information and moving the process along. With how their contract is structured there really is no incentive for Fairway to finish in a timely manner because the longer the pre-construction phase takes the more money they can charge because of their customers. I'm sure not many people walk away from a project with them after handing over almost $15,000 in non-refundable deposits. Our experience was that bad, that walking away made sense. My advice is to do your research. There are other builders out there including one in the Phoenix and Tucson areas that offers the same homeowner participation program as Fairway. Also, if you ever have to deal with Steve Hill, request someone else, or if you can't request someone else make sure you ask questions and get any deals with him in writing.

"Build your dream home" will turn into "LIve a nightmare project". 4 field project managers, 3 regional managers, and 4 project coordinators over the course of our build. The non-professional trades like framers, drywallers, and cement will not get the direct supervision they need to avoid significant quality problems. Project took 4 extra months due to consecutive problems with cabinet supplier. Who continues to do business with a supplier who messes up 3 times in a row? Fairway does. And when you want to escalate because you think that you might get relief from your nightmare, they will refuse to provide the contact information for the owners. Contrary to other posts here, the communication is reactive, not proactive. At the end, your punch list repairs will largely be foisted back on you and your hazard insurance if you can't explicitly prove their workers caused the problem. Punch list repairs are considered 'complete' by Fairway even though the trades will not clean up after themselves or execute touch-up painting. See the photo below of tile too high on one side and too low on the other. Typical of what you will experience throughout your build. In addition, there is a review posted here by Robin Dorris who was an employee of Fairway at the time it was posted. I guess Fairway uses their employees to promote their business? think about that... Run, do not walk, in the opposite direction of Fairway. Service: Project management
