I'm new to the Phoenix area and I was looking for a new dealership to maintain my multiple Acura vehicles. What an immediate impression Acura of Tempe made. Our Service Advisor David Bruntz was fantastic to work with and he provided excellent communication, empathy and the focus to make sure that everything was taken care of to my satisfaction. In addition, while I was waiting for my vehicle, the Service Manager (Able) came out to introduce himself to me and he had glowing admiration for the company he's worked for over the past 15+ years. He too was extremely personable. Keep up the good work everyone and thank you for helping me be comfortable with my transition to Phoenix with our Acura vehicles and knowing we're in good hands.

I would not do business with this dealership as they do not do honest business. I own an MDX with very low miles, garage kept, and dealer maintenance done from day one. I had an offer from Carvona for $19,400. I brought it by, and this dealership offered $16,200. The car will be sold to a private party for $21,000 and the retail book is $28,000. Their business model is as outdated as their GM that made this insulting offer. I understand why they have no cars on the lot and barely anyone that works at this particular dealership. I'm sure they're scratching to get by.

Poor.. I went for an Acura and asked not to check my credit until I seen what he had.. Guess what he did. He checked my credit without me confirming and to top it off he showed me a car That was a repo and was not even clean... it had dirt in the seats, dried candy, and the doors wow. I guess he thought I didn't have any money to spend.. I went and got me a nice New Acura from somewhere else..

I have approximately ten years of experience in the car business but left to pursue a career in law. My wife was interested in leasing an MDX and trading in our Honda Pilot. Prior to arriving, we did our research and looked up trade in values on both Kelly Blue Book and NADA which both agreed on the trade in value. I have never worked a deal as a salesman in which we could not offer KBB trade in on a new car lease or sale. The salesman allowed us to test drive the vehicle and then worked up a first pencil showing a "discount" of approximately $1500, while offering $4-5k LESS than KBB or NADA trade value for our very clean trade. There were questions I had about why I was being charged tax on a line when tax for a lease is supposed (and was) to be assessed separately. I immediately told the salesman that the price was unacceptable, and countered on a number which took into account the unwanted optional paint warranty and a reasonable amount for the trade. Upon our counteroffer, the salesman immediately got the desk manager to take a turn. As soon as he sat down, I told him that I wanted what Kelly Blue Book and NADA valued the vehicle at (my counter was actually only a $3500 net difference). He said he couldn't do that and didn't make any counteroffer whatsoever. That is his right, so we shook hands. We were about to leave but I wanted to review the numbers they presented, because if another dealership wouldn't offer more for our trade I would prefer to give the sale to the original salesman, who was kind and polite. As I was reviewing the worksheet the desk manager said that is "internal use only" and asked for the papers. Having worked in the business across several dealerships in different states, I can say an honest dealership would absolutely let people take worksheets home all the time. In fact, the Honda Dealership *owned by the same company* let us have the exact same worksheet on our Pilot a couple weeks ago because we are between buying out our lease and trading it in. While I was sitting down looking at the papers, the desk manager aggressively got out of his seat, and loomed above me. He then forcefully grabbed the papers, crumpling them and snatching them out of my hands, consequently causing a large papercut to my hand. I said loudly that I had never encountered such unprofessional behavior in the decade that I worked in the business as both a salesman and a manager and they threatened to trespass me without first giving me the keys to my car. Let me be very clear: THIS IS NOT NORMAL. Whereas the desk manager was much shorter than I and overweight, I was in a seated position when he accosted me, putting me at a disadvantage should I have had to defend myself. No one should be made to feel unsafe when they are simply trying to buy a car. It is only in the car business where you would encounter this kind of egregious behavior when trying to make a simple purchase. Imagine a realtor doing something like this. Dealerships thrive on asymmetrical information. Transparency allows for an arms-length transaction, and if they are honest and representing their best price, they should be able to stand behind their numbers. These numbers were clearly shady, because the manager was willing to assault a seated customer to prevent them from being corroborated. Do not do business with these people. There are other Acura dealerships. There are other brands. If one of my salesmen had tried anything physical with a customer one morning, they would not have a job that afternoon. Based on the other reviews I see for this dealership, dishonest and aggressive behavior is endemic at Acura of Tempe.
