image I have had my business and personal accounts with AZ Fed since 2012. Have tried twice now to open a teen account. First time in Biltmore, needed photo ID. Asked if old passport would work, told yes. Show up for a second appt today at this branch and they say it won't work. My teen won't have a school ID for another year. Going to find a new bank, really shouldn't be this difficult. One more step to change my business accounts and I'm done with you AZ Fed.

image If I could give zero stars I would. If you want to business with a terrible organization look no further. Especially a branch ran by Alex (Branch Manager) and Brittney Morgan (Service Manager). These two individuals do not and will not follow up as the claim they will. Alex called randomly one night after I left a poor review about how this branch ruined my credit. He told me towards the end of our call that he would “help resolve the issue” and follow up once it’s done. Well let me tell you, it’s been four weeks and he still has not “resolved the issue” nor has he followed up. I have request four times that he follow up and resolve this issue that I’m having but he still cannot seem to find it in his schedule, nor make it a priority knowing it’s been about four weeks. He clearly doesn’t care.
Now for Brittney. She was the initial representative that reached out to me about my poor experience. When I responded with how to be able to communicate with me, I couldn’t get her to reach out either and I gave her my direct contact information. I had to reach out four times before she responded, knowing she was the one that reached out to me about this problem acting like she cared to fix it. She also told me she would resolve the issue but still has yet to do.
Long story short, I’m soon to be ex wife was granted the car that had a car payment (which was court ordered) and she failed to make several months payments and all of my information was deleted out of the website and Arizona federal credit union did not notify me once during these late payments. After several late payments that I was not notify of, they AFCU finally reached out to notify me about the situation knowing I am the PRIMARY on the loan. Their policy states that they are required to reach out 7 days after a payment is late because it on day 10 they notify the collection agency. I did not get this courtesy and they do not “accept” court orders. So because of my terrible ex wife and terrible company, my credit remains ruined because of AFCU inability to contact me and follow court orders.
The irony of this situation is, when they called me I made the payment, knowing I did not want to effect my credit. So why did they break their own policy by not notifying the primary (me) or even given me the chance to make the payment? I had an 816 credit score.. I have always been In good standings. Had I had access, notified and or even received a phone call I wouldnt be in this situation.
Lastly the fact that they don’t accept court orders is ridiculous. I havnt been in possession of that vehicle of almost a year and the judge ruled it’s the opposing parties responsibility. So why can’t we setup the loan tbe reflect that and remove me…
Currently my credit is ruined and I still have yet to be taken care of. AFCU is a terrible company and I do not recommend doing business with them. Especially this branch with Brittney and Alex.

image I have been a member for 7 years and this is an excellent credit union with all the website and app capabilities of a large bank, and all the member services, great interest rates, and customer care of a credit union.
At this branch the staff have always been capable and helpful. No long lines. Clean and comfortable.
As for the institution overall, I won't go into the basics of banks vs credit unions, other than to say that the only advantage people can ever come up with for banks is all the services and "bells and whistles" they offer. However, AFCU has an excellent website & app with all the tools you could want. I'm instantly and unobtrusively alerted on my app of all "card swipe" purchases. I have text notifications of large withdrawals, I can take pictures of checks to deposit them, etc. The card power app lets me turn my cards on and off instantly. I keep my credit card locked unless I'm about to buy something. I generally keep my debit card unlocked, but for example if I cannot find my wallet I just lock that too and don't have to worry. It's quick and easy to get help by calling, I have never experienced more than 2 or 3 minutes hold time and honestly, even though it sounds weird, I like the upbeat fast-paced hold music anyway lol. In a tight spot and need to skip a credit card payment? AFCU has your back.
Credit unions are great, they are on your side, and unless you have 100k plus in savings so that a bank will actively court you with personalized interest rates, or you need to have an ATM within 5 miles of you at all times, there's really no reason to use a bank. Having been a member of a few CU's over the years, I can assure you AFCU is the best one I have ever been a member of.
