A little over a year ago my family made the decision to place my parents in a group home. My father was on hospice and my mother was confined to a wheelchair. From the day we met Goren and Maria we knew it was right. As I moved my parents in they were there for us every step of the way. They're main focus was making sure they felt at home and comfortable. Sadly a few weeks later my father passed. This left my mother there alone and grieving. We were there several times a week to help her cope but if it wasn't for Goren, Maria and the care givers we never would have made it through this difficult time. They supported, cared and LOVED her more than we ever anticipated. Never in my life would I have expected someone to be as invested in my parents care as I was but they were! My mother's health declined in the year after my father died and we lost her on May 12th of this year. I am at peace knowing that my mother was cared for the way I would have cared for her if I had her in my home. She loved them as much as they loved her and we consider Goren and Maria to be an extended part of our family. Making the choice to put your loved one in a group home isn't an easy one, trust me I know from experience. You spend time searching and making sure it is a good fit and that your loved one will be taken care of. I thank God every day I found these two and truly thank them from the bottom of my heart! I will forever be grateful to them for making my parents feel loved and appreciated at the end of their lives.

If you like lies, being yelled at, force feeding of your loved one, and indecent exposure in dress-then this is the place for you. The CNA's of Banner Hospice told me they should be shut down as they encountered abusive behavior from the owner and that my mother and other residents were not given care from the heart and were only concerned about their money. They can't keep care givers longer than a week or two, which means they are continually short of staff. I tried to communicate with the AZ bureau, which supposedly represents the residents, but they would not hear my concerns in person, even though I had proof, which was sent to me (unsolicited) by another resident's guardian. My only regret is that I didn't move my mother sooner but I know it is hard on a dementia patient and I kept hoping things would improve, however, once they knew I was questioning the care, they exploded. I will never get over this experience for as long as I live!!!!!! My mother was dying but they could not keep her dressed - and when I complained, she was asked to move. It was too much work for them to keep slacks or shorts on her and when they knew I had received a photograph showing her scantily clad .....she was asked to move. I was happy she did not die in their care.
