Legacy Retirement Residence of Mesa

Moved my mother on 12/16 on an agreed cost, specifically asked about increases, was assured they would not be going up til possibly next year, thats where they got me, it was December and the cost went up January 1st. However I never saw the increase until April! So kinda hard to accept any of staffs reasonings. The director has no idea what the billing is and how it works, but her invoices say call if you have any questions. So I did, and was told my mothers level of care went up, when I asked why I wasnt notified I was told she didnt know and referred me to the care coordinator. Care coordinator said no her care stayed the same. What a joke. Called back to the director and was told well a letter went out 12/04 letting people know about the increase, Again, didnt move my mother in until 12/16, she took financial 11/30, but when signing the lease I was assured it wasnt going up anytime soon, just to get an invoice for April first with the increase that was effective 01/01/2024. Doesnt make sense and the director doesnt offer any insight, her response is thats just policy she has no idea and its a joke. Its not like its an easy task to just move my mother to a better / nicer facility, the transition from home to legacy has been and still is extremely hard on my mother. So be careful, and do your own homework. Dont trust that the community has the clients best interests in mind, its numbers that the facility is worried about. *****Update****** Since my review, I have been contacted by the executive director, Mr Lin Neff, who was not who I spoke with over the phone on the day of my review, however he is the one who contacted me with an apology and an acceptable explanation to what actually happened with the increase in my mothers monthly statement and assured me that the lines of communication will be better moving forward.

I work for Uber eats,I delivered to a amazing lady who lives here.i couldn't believe how friendly everyone is in this facility!!! Everyone says hello,how are you doing today? I delivered to the second floor & I hear a group of ladies just laughing.... It was nice to see a place that the people are so well taken care of & friends having a great time!!!! I'm not afraid to "retire now,I know where I'd want to ld want to go when I"retire!! "
