Sahara/Playa Palms Apartments

Dont trust this property. Their screening process is tedious. They will make you apply and they will purposely wait more than 48 hours to let you know that they will not be able to accept your application. So the rules is you can get your application admin fee if you cancel within 48 hour mark. But they will delay it so you cant get your money back. Additionally, I wanted to say that I have been renting with Chamberlin and associates since April 2020 in different properties and never had an issue. But this specific property, Sahara is really different. I was wondering why they have so many bad reviews. Now I know why. Stir away from this property.

Started off good, then they did have our car towed out of our assigned parking spot. They had their tow company target us while we were already having a hard time. It really did us in.

The quality of the complex has notably gone downhill since we moved in 2022. Parking is hard to find around the main buildings and both our cars were constantly being dinged by other peoples in the complex. The trash cans and recycle were almost always overflowing. Our experience at Sahara Palms was fine up until right before we moved out. We broke our lease and signed all the necessary paperwork but Sahara Palms failed to update this in their system with the correct move out date. So when rent was due, they took the full months rent out of our account the day before the first of the month, instead of the prorated amount. When we went to the office to get our refund or cancel the payment, the only option they gave us was to wait to see our money in the disposition after weve already moved out or pay the late fee which doesnt make any sense, because our money was taken out before the 1st of the month. They said they couldnt even waive this overdue fee if we were to choose that option despite the fact this is completely their fault. Thats over $900 they were trying to withhold from us which we possible couldve have never seen again or not have gotten the money back till a month later once our apartment was inspected. The office refused to work with us so we reached out to Chamberlain and Associates and finally after that suddenly the manager told us shed be giving us a refund for our rent payment. Its just frustrating the office was unable to issue a refund for a mistake that was made on their part and we had to reach above them just to get our money back that was wrongfully pulled from our account. In fact, the incompetence of the office staff is ridiculous. Although the staff is kind, no one in that office seems to be on the same page and they also cant seem to ensure the proper information is put into their tenants portals. Just be wary of renting from this place.

Too many issues here. Unsafe sidewalks they add extra fees. Cause they can no grace period. If you don't pay on the 1st it's 51.00 extra on the 2nd. My cars been hit over 3 times. They like they pay for they Maintenance. Buy it comes out rent. They told me I had to pant my own apartment. Been here almost 6 years. Only reason I stay cause it off highway. They pick and choose if they want your car towed. Especially if you hurt they feelings. P.s. I have reached out and no changes have been made. So too they response. It means nothing. Been here since 2018. They can't even change my carpet even after years they suppose to do it. By law. And I only been late once on rent. And I paid 5 month ahead and they STILL gave me a late fee. Sad right. What yall gonna say next. That doesn't matter. 2018 to present I been here.
