Olive East

Moved to AZ from PA and had a few options that I was looking at prior to the move. Out of the gate Janet and John were extremely receptive to the immense amount of questions I had about the area, the community, and the overall cross country move. Leading up to my flight they continued to show efficiency in getting the paperwork and general move-in items handled accordingly prior to me arriving. Since I was arriving with a pet this made it that much easier to get right into the unit with no fuss or hassle on paperwork. The unit itself despite having a short turn-over time was in near perfect move-in condition. I call this out again because the property only had a few days to accommodate due to a perfect storm of staffing and previous tenant delays. The unit and community are exactly as was described to me while I was still in PA and I couldn't be happier to call this my new home. Short and sweet... Janet and John absolutely worked tirelessly to ensure I had a smooth move-in and it was noticed. Highly recommend the community and the close access to downtown Gilbert is a premium that isn't charged for enough.

lived here as a kid. good area, next to downtown gilbert & walking distance of many stores and restaurants. short walk to the nearby elementary school too. good living conditions, parents never complained. not much of a community, some known problems among neighbors, but overall good place to live.

My roommate and I have had a great experience here so far. Janette in the office is very helpful and has been very kind. She helped me get what I needed done to move in, with very short notice. overall 10/10!!

Love everything about the complex. Its always up kept with maintenance, staff is extremely friendly and understanding to ALL NEEDS and SITUATIONS. Everything is up to date in the apartments. Work orders are always completed expeditiously. Neighbors and the community is AMAZING! So Spacious! Glad I chose Olive East for my first apartment.

TOOK MY 5 STAR REVIEW DOWN. UPDATE: When we first moved in, Margarita was the community manager (lack there of!). She was NEVER in the office, NEVER helpful, NEVER answered the phone, NEVER called my bf or I back, NEVER emailed back, NEVER addressed our work orders. HORRIBLE. She spent more time in the office at night (8-10pm) with her husband than during business hours. Such a joke. Then, Marisa took over - WONDERFUL! She ALWAYS went above & beyond to help us. ALWAYS called or emailed back, ALWAYS got maintenance to our apt for work orders & ALWAYS showed she cared. Truly just went above & beyond for her residents (& quite frankly, the ONLY reason we renewed our lease). Unfortunately, Marisa is no longer at Olive East & a new Management company has taken over with new office staff. Nothing to say about them personally as I havent spoken to any of them, but it appears weve gone back to the lack of staff in the office - esp on weekends. Even if youre hiring for permanent staff in the office & just havent found anyone yet, you should have someone there to help residents on the weekend as most of us work during the week. In addition, Ive entered a work order that has been sitting for a week & I have not heard a word from any of the office staff on the status. I asked for touch up paint (2 colors), I was given 2, 5 gallon buckets to fill my own containers up (both were the same color). I provided them with Tupperware containers weeks prior when I originally entered the work order. So far, not a great start with new management. Had we known this is how the new management would be, we would NOT had renewed our lease. We just want it to feel like a community of happy people who love to do their jobs (since its the one you chose). Dont punish the residents please - just do better. PROS: - close to downtown Gilbert, Dutch Bros & Starbucks (walking distance) - plenty of parking - lots of grass - some friendly neighbors - sound of the train passing by (this is a pro for me because I love the sound, could be a con to others) - the maintenance tech is very nice! CONS: - many not friendly neighbors - lots of street racing on both streets around community - lack of community from management (no resident events, no food trucks, etc) - lack of communication from office - lots of dog poop all around community - small fitness center that wreaks of air freshener (way too strong for that small space) which I guess is better than sweat but not worth the headache is creates. Overall, not a horrible community to live at but would not be my first, second or third choice anymore. Also, we miss you Marisa! :(
