This place is a DUMP. The room was disgusting. There was visible mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the room REEKED of cigarettes and weed despite signs that say no smoking,  the heater was on at 80 and took an hour to lower to tolerable. The door barely locked, the mattress was questionable enough i had to lift to check for bed bugs. Luckily none of those.  If i wasnt desperate for anything to avoid crashing my car as i drive, i would have avoided this at all costs. For 60 bucks a night id rather spend 5 more dollars and go to motel 6

I called at 2:30pm this afternoon and was told by Stewart he would hold the room.  I left my name and tried to give him a credit card to secure my room.  Arrived at hotel no ones ther called 5 times no one answered.  Call the 6 th time and Stewart somebody must if rented it out! its 9:30pm really. Not good!

This is not a Four Seasons; This is a motel.The Whispering Winds Motel is a quaint, go-to for anyone looking to stay in Flagstaff on a dime, but isn't afraid of a mystery hair or two in the sink. The rooms are well equipped compared to similarly priced competitors, and the AC/Heaters are near commercial quality. The beds are weirdly comfortable; Shit shouldn't be so comfy in a motel, but they're packing better beds than the one I sleep in at home.Management is a bit unorthodox, but they're good and honest people. I applaud them for maintaining the stellar mid century architecture and design, even if it was merely "Budget-Driven Preservation."I highly recommend staying here if you're planning to be in town and want to pay half the cost of the pricey hotels for the same amenities. Just remember:This is not a Four Seasons; This is a Motel.P.S. If somebody isn't in the office when you get there, hang around for a couple minutes. It never took them very long to get back to the front desk.
