Make sure you read the lowest rated reviews first. There is some validation to them. My wife took her vehicle in for warm a/c issue. The inspection found an oil leak from the compressor. Quoted price for replacing the compressor, condenser, evacuate and recharge was over $1200. Thats not unusual for that kind of job. However, I get suspicious when they suggest replacing a condenser that didnt need it. The compressor did not seize or blow. Just an oil leak. There was no reason to include that work since the rest of the a/c system itself was not leaking, nor was the oil contaminated. I had my wife decline the work. They charged about $150 for the diagnosis. I called in a favor to my hvac buddy to evacuate the system for me so that I could replace the compressor. A little over $300 for a compressor kit and a small refrigerant top off and it cools like new. Saved around $700. Now that I think about it, I took my car in a while back for wheel alignment, and I did not get any specs in my invoice. Usually, a good shop will list original manufacturer specs and list the specs found on the vehicle. Also, not that long ago (last year maybe?) my wife took her car in for a transmission flush that cost over $200. Recently as I was replacing the cv axle to her car I noticed that the fluid was really dark (theres usually a bit of fluid that comes out as you pull the axle from the seal). Makes me wonder how thorough they performed a flush, if at all? My opinion is that if you go to this shop for any diagnosis, get a second opinion. You could end up paying more than you have to.
