        Alaska State Parks manages the Seymour public use cabin. It is on the Seymour Canal side of the human powered rail tram. This tram provides a reasonable means of portaging between Oliver Inlet and Seymour Canal. Check with Parks about bringing heating oil or wood to heat the cabin. Only boats and gear that can be moved by muscle power should attempt the portage. There is a steep boardwalk section on the Oliver Inlet side without rails. Restrooms: Out house at cabin. Dog-friendliness: Keep dogs close, many bears in the area. Picnic area: A small covered area with a fire pit near the cabin.

        Great place to go. Free cabin! We went there with an adventure company we found on Facebook called Epic Adventures and Logistics. What a top notch day.

        One of the most beautiful places on Earth. Arrived by Kayak in 2016. Pristine wilderness, not a person in sight. If you find yourself here make sure you leave no trace and keep it wild for the things that live here, and for future visitors. Those before me did and I'll forever be thankful for it.
