Avis Alaska Headquarters

Lived in Anchorage for 4 years, came back to visit. Rented a car from Avis, from the jump the lady had an attitude. 7 months later while deployed my wife gets a $1800 bill from them. They made her cry. I hope they get Investigated by the state for fraud and get shut down. Scam artists with the ability to affect your credit.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY They file a claim after you leave and think everything is good. Bogus claim scam! Horrible service to try and reconcile. Long time Avis customer is now a no longer Avis customer.

Do NOT rent from here. Renting a car from this company is by far the worst travel decision I have made. After a week long rental, we returned our vehicle and got the "All looks good, no damages noted" from the employee. 6 months later, we were hit with an $1,800 bill! That's right, 6 months later for "damages". I called their headquarters and had a bunch of interactions with unprofessional people.They were not helpful, and just wanted "their" money... This is a scam. Buyer be very aware. Sending out bills 6 months late is highly unprofessional and suggestive of something sneaky. I am an avid traveler and rent cars all over the world. This company is the worst I have dealt with to date.

The worst thing that has ever happened to me happened because we rented with Avis Alaska! This company should be ashamed for how they work and how they do business. Do not rent from them, they will ruin your life!

SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER RENTERS. Upon returning the vehicle to Anchorage Avis, no damage was brought to our attention by the attendant. However, 3 months later Avis sent me a demand letter for $800 worth of damage of "a small dent and paint chip on the hood of the car". After a few email correspondence, Avis Alaska insisted that the dents were made during the rental period. I requested for a damage estimate. The estimate sent from Avis shows an odometer reading of 13143, when the car was returned at odometer reading of 9748. I have been an Avis preferred member for years and have only rented from Avis. This is the first time Avis ever came after me over a damage that was NOT caused by me. How can Avis perform a damage estimate after renting the car out for another 4000 miles/3 months and stick the bill to me? I reached back out and they have not responded for days. I followed up with emails and still no response. Avis was quick to respond when they think they have all the rights to say it's my responsibility to pay, but when I clearly point out the 4000 odometer reading difference, they are now silent. Close your pointless claim.
