Court Woods Apartments

Property is a bit outdated, which is the only reason I am giving 4 stars. Other than that, amazing rental experience. I have 3 cats, so I am used to being gouged for their existence. No pet deposit or rent, in the PM's words "any damage will be covered with your deposit, why would we charge you for pets?" Pricing is very reasonable, especially considering how crazy the market in Tuscaloosa is. Location is great, right next to Target and Home Depot for your household needs, a short drive to Midtown for shopping. Close enough to campus that Ubers to the strip are cheap. Staff is kind, attentive, and understanding. The PM's husband, who helps with maintenance, even helped me move out!

This has been the best rental experience I've had! The property is beautiful and the apartments are well maintained. Tenants are friendly. Whenever we had issues, Maria is always quick to handle it. Everyone that works here has been very kind and accommodating. Gary the maintenance guy is so nice and would always go out of his way to help us. Thank y'all for a great year!

I lived here for two years for college and absolutely LOVED it. I hated having to move out and miss this place dearly. Maria, the property manager, is one of the sweetest people ever and truly cares about the residents. Maintenance is great and gets non-emergency issues taken care of usually within 2 days and emergency issues that very day. The complex itself is super quiet and is super safe. It's so safe in fact that I, a young woman, felt safe enough to take my trash out at 3am if I needed to. There's also a little colony of kitties that help keep pests away (even though pest control sprays regularly for bugs and can be called in if needed). Court Woods is literally the "needle in a haystack" property with it being so close to everything, low rent, the amount of space you get within each apartment, and absolutely no issues. While students can live here (like I did), the majority of the residents are families. It's absolutely amazing and anyone who decides to live here will not regret it!!

Best kept secret in Tuscaloosa - LIVE HERE! I have lived in Tuscaloosa for 6 years, and Court Woods is the 4th apartment I have stayed in. This has been by far my best living experience. I have never had any pest problems, and the grounds are kept very clean (I can't even recall seeing a single roach over the course of a year, which is not true of any other apartment I've stayed in). Maintenance responds quickly to problems and has always done a good job. Though there is only 1 dumpster for the whole property, it is never full (I cannot say the same for other apartment complexes in Tuscaloosa). The residents are a mix of upperclassmen, graduate students, small families and non students, and residents are respectful of one another. I would say it's very quiet (you won't hear cars blaring loud music or people constantly coming and going late at night). Though there is a low cost extended stay hotel across the parking lot, I have never seen any hint of an "unsavory element" within the complex. You won't see people just hanging out with nothing better to do in the parking lot or anything like that. Additionally, a police officer lives in the complex and parks right out front. Neither myself nor friends of mine that have stayed at Court Woods for years have ever had to deal with any crime issues. For those newer to Tuscaloosa, the location is fantastic: across the street from target and home depot as well as very close to the main UA gym and parking lots on the east side of campus. The current property manager, Maria, is fantastic and by far the best property manager I have interacted with anywhere. Lastly, you can't beat the price for the amount of space you get and the proximity to campus, restaurants and 4 grocery stores. I easily would have been willing to pay 125/month more than I paid and still would have left a positive review.
