The nurses in the back were so awesome and kind!
The African American woman at the front desk was extremely rude and short with me! I told her I had just called and they told me to come straight over. She told me to fill out a paper on a clipboard. I began and she told me I couldnt do it at the window. I was the only person there! I was so surprised by her rudeness!
Why does the county have such a hateful person in charge???
Its just as easy to be nice as it is to be rude!!

Im not sure why the stars are so low, when ever Ive needed their service, whether for my self or my children, they have provided for our needs with kindness and professionalism! From prenatal care to child health they are great! Even going thru birth control and yearly Pap smears has been great (as great as a pap can be really). They provide a much needed service to our community and also education not just about planning parenthood but general health as well. Definitely recommend

So the visit and energy was offf from the start, a copy of my child's birth certificate was needed. My husband went to obtain it and the first thing the receptionist (older African American woman with wavy hair) says you have to be on the birth certificate (she did not ask; she assumed and profiled him while our daughter was with him) .. online it states you can pay using money orders so we called to ensure they would accept the money orders and the response over the phone was no; however when we checked online and called the Elmore County Health Dept.(who was 10x friendlier just over the phone and checked with someone to make sure they gave us the correct answer) & it was clarified that money orders were accepted. Also, my husband and child mistakenly left a door open to the car, a polite gentleman informed them but the same receptionist begins making comments and laughing stating "you look like you would leave a door open" but he was offended and baffled by those comments and laughter bc what does that supposed to mean. We were then instructed to wait an hour to have our request fulfilled.
Long story short : AVOID THIS HEALTH DEPARTMENT AT ALL COST UNLESS YOU ARE UP TO DEAL WITH RUDE RECEPTIONIST , GO TO ELMORE COUNTY. I KNOW THAT I AM NOT ALONE OTHER REVIEWS VALIDATE OUR EXPERIENCE.
