Very disappointing HGI stay. We usually have a very good HGI experience, not here. Staff was great, no complaints. Public area downstairs looked fine. Rooms a big disappointment, felt like we were in a bad horror movie involving psyche ward scene. Supposedly in middle of a reno, but even though the walls were freshly painted (Walmart paint white), the metal furniture and bathroom trim was rusted, the toilet moved on its poorly caulked base, and furniture was sparse, like someones sad flea market decor in college. Beds were clean but bed covering cheap feeling and itchy. Lotion refillable dispenser not yet attached to the wall in bathroom and lotion globbed all over. Shower looked new and clean, but sparse sink vanity with zero underneath storage and rusted metal, I dont get it. Very disappointing. Sad we used points, but glad we didnt pay money. Will not be back. Hard letdown after a pampered stay at Emmas Bayhouse in Fairhope, we give it 5 stars!

This hotel is gross. I walked into a room that besides having a made bed, clearly hadnt been cleaned well if at all. There was something disgusting on the floor, I did not complain because I just removed it by tossing it in the toilet. I spoke to management in the morning who apologized and said theyd get it cleaned. After returning in the evening, nothing had been cleaned. I followed up with management that evening letting them know that I had the earlier request and the person said that they werent sure but the cleaning staff might be gone for the day but theyd call me back. No call back. I had to lay towels in the floor because its that gross.
Rooms: Yuck
