Lakepoint State Park Lodge

Stayed here many times throughout my son's high school fishing career. The rooms could use some updating but they are overall clean. Staff is always friendly and the food is always yummy! Love the views from the restaurant and we always see a gator or two.

I got sunburned and our engine failed but had a good time. 10/10 but bring deep pockets. Rooms: Other than pleasure boaters and jet skiers, the bass fishing was great. Nearby activities: Gas stations and a lake, what more do you need. Safety: Carry. Walkability: To the lake, but drive to gas stations. Food & drinks: Water 2x damage Noteworthy details: Mountains.

We loved the lake cottage. Beautiful view. Area was quiet even with all cottages full. The cottage is a little dated and could use a refurb. Microwave was out of order but they did put provide a mini countertop model. No room to do any cooking. And minimal cooking pans/utensils. Not a sheet pan or even tongs. But still we managed. My only complaint is would be checkin. The two young ladies at the desk were more concerned with the young men there than helping us. The one girl sat back down at her computer and could not even be bothered to greet us. The other girl while talking to the boys asked for my name. Gave me a paper to initial and handed me our key. That was it. We didnt get a map of the resort, we did not get told the location of the cabin, we did not get told about any of the restaurants, nor were we told the Wi-Fi password. Fortunately we figured most of it out for ourselves because they were both useless. Very sad customer service. We would still come back just because we did enjoy the lake and surrounding areas.
