Terrible customer service. Make sure you know EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN detail about what you need to buy. I asked if they had a Sony Camera D battery. The man in the shop told me he needed more information - there was no way for him to possibly know what type of battery I needed from that. I would have to go home and bring in the battery. I asked if he could possibly just do a quick computer search for it. He plugged away at the computer and said, "there is nothing on here that we have in stock. you need to go home and get the battery."
So I go to my car and get my phone and freaking GOOGLE "sony camera D battery" and EVERY single result for the first page is the battery I need! EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Which means that I'm not making up the name, and this is a common reference to the battery type.
I returned to the store and show them the picture from my phone. And low and behold, they DID have the freakin battery.
Here's the thing. I think this is a good IDEA for a specialty store... but not everyone is going to know every detail about what they need - e.g. serial numbers or whatever. If this store won't even do basic searches for compatible batteries, there's no point. If I hadn't had my phone with me to look it up, I would have gone home, gotten my battery.... and ordered it online rather than returning to this store.
