Nicklaus Children's Dan Marino Outpatient Center
Nicklaus Children's Dan Marino Outpatient Center is a center for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children with special needs. The Center, developed as a partnership between the Dan Marino Foundation and Nicklaus Children's Hospital is a not-for-profit entity fully owned by Nicklaus Children's Hospital, formerly Miami Children's Hospital. Since this center's inception in 1998, it has grown rapidly and is now providing neurological and developmental services to children throughout South Florida as well as South America and Europe. The Dan Marino Outpatient Center also coordinates community outreach projects that include the services of specialized medical and allied healthcare professionals, educational organizations, volunteer programs, and parent support organizations. The Nicklaus Children's Dan Marino Outpatient Center is comprised of outpatient evaluation and treatment professionals serving the health care needs of children, adolescents and young adults from birth through 21 years of age. Diagnostic Services available include: Electroencephalogram (EEG) / Video EEG, BERA, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with and without sedation Walk in X-ray For information about hours of operation or to schedule diagnostic services. All diagnostic services require a prescription. Free Sports EKG screening available at this center. Please call for hours.Rehabilitation Services include: Physical, occupational, speech-language, and feeding and swallowing therapies Augmentative and alternative communication evaluations (AAC) Aquatic therapy Orthopedic physical therapy Applied behavior analysis (ABA)Pediatric Subspecialists provide consultations.Pediatric Care Center providing general pediatric care from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with limited Saturday hours Pediatric Subspecialty Services are available at this center.Additional services include: Music and movement (provided by private practice clinicians) Parenting workshops

The only way you can schedule appointment or speak with someone with pediatrics is if you leave a voicemail and wait for them to call back SUPER INCONVENIENT people work and cannot sit around waiting for a call back

My daughter's therapist Ana is amazing! I love how she interacts with her and my daughter likes her alot. She has been doing so much better in such a short period of time, but... sighh..I'm not too thrilled about the company with such a huge name. I had to call 3-4 different numbers, be placed on hold for almost 20mins each time just to change one my daughter's appointments. I work in healthcare, I get it can get busy, but what frustrated me is that each person said they couldn't help me and that I had to call a different number. Getting evaluations are great but keeping the clients coming is the idea, especially if they called to come in for therapy that means they actually need it. Two reps said they only handle evaluations and that's great but what about the actual patients..??... I don't know who handles that department but they dropped the ball on this one. It shouldn't be that difficult to have some of the same eval reps handle schedules for patients too. My outpatient facility does it. It avoids this type of frustration. There should be 1-2 direct lines for scheduling. I would be glad to help if need be.
Update:** The scheduling department manager Jamie called me and was really nice enough to listen to my concerns and assist me with getting in contact with my daughter's therapist and who helped change my daughter's therapy schedule. We had a great conversation about everything and I thought the response time was great and of course Ana is amazing . Thank you both for assisting me with getting my daughter's therapy organized. from 3 to 5.

The staff at this site is the worst that one as a parent can find in a medical service center, they have no human quality, they speak to you in a rude manner and when you demand respect they get angry and act offended themselves. I have a very complex situation with my son and the least I am asking, almost begging, is to be able to talk to the pediatrician but as the office staff says, the pediatrician is not going to contact me nor do they want to give me an appointment so that At least the doctor cleared up my doubts as a parent regarding my son's situation. It is frustrating as a parent to be left in limbo without explanation and the office manager told me that if I try to make an appointment with my son's doctor she will refer to another doctor. ZERO EMPATHY. The only people I can rescue are Mrs. Magaly and Ana de la Rosa, the rest are rude and unprofessional.

Terrible!!!!! I had a highly disappointing experience with this clinic. On my second visit, I received a call just 15 minutes before my appointment notifying me that it had been canceled due to the doctor falling ill and all doctors being busy. This came after I had already traveled 45 minutes to reach the office. I was assured that they would contact me to reschedule, but after two weeks of no communication, I had to reach out to them myself. It took another 4 months to secure a new appointment.
On the day of the appointment, I had to wait for an excessive 2 hours, while witnessing another patient expressing their frustration with the long wait as well.
Today, during my last follow-up, I encountered a problem with my car and had to call my dad for assistance. I attempted to contact the office on my way, but their 866 number remains unanswered. Consequently, I arrived 10 minutes late, but I found out that my appointment had been canceled because the doctor had lunch at 11:30 AM. I explained my situation to the front desk, but they seemed uninterested and unhelpful. Despite the office being nearly empty, with only one patient waiting, I was met with rudeness and a lack of understanding.
This appointment caused me to miss work and my child missed a day of school, all while having driven 45 minutes. The earliest available appointment is in 6 months, which is highly disappointing. As a clinic specializing in neurology, they should understand the struggles faced by a mother seeking help for her autistic child. Waiting for 6 months for an appointment only to receive this kind of treatment is unjust. Such experiences discourage parents from seeking necessary assistance from specialists. It is disheartening that clinics like this make follow-up care so challenging.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE OFFICE STAFF
**The Pediatricians here are AMAZING Dr. Monte & Dr. Silverberg and the nurses are great with the kids. Knowledgeable and professional, easy to talk to.**
THE OFFICE STAFF is HORRIBLE, the receptionist has a very bad attitude, and there is another lady (that overhears phone conversations, she knows who she is, I do not know her name) that also has attitude towards parents, not only me. When Dulce was there things were great and you would get a call back within minutes. With this staff, they put you on hold for a while, when you leave voicemails they dont return your calls. I taught it was only my luck, but by talking to a couple of parents it is not only me. I asked to talk with the office manager 2 weeks ago, and to this day, she has not returned my call.
If they change their staff the office will be like before. It is a shame that amazing Doctors are stuck with office people like this. If you are not a people person, dont work dealing with people, much less worried parents.
By reading other reviews, you can tell that they only have one problem THE OFFICE STAFF!!
