My extended family and I have bought homeowner and/or car insurance through Russell K. McNeil Insurance Agency, West Roxbury, MA for over 35 years. I have had my car insurance with them since 1985. For 33 years I have trusted them and always renewed and paid on time. I got very lazy and year after year never compared rate/costs until this year! McNeil had me insured with Quincy Mutual Insurance.
2018 McNeil Annual Car Insurance Cost: $2022/yr $170/mth
2018 For EQUAL or BETTER coverage cost: $1156/yr $ 96/mth
Difference: SAVINGS with Geiko: $866/yr $ 72/mth
Now what can I do with $72/mth extra spending money?
I called McNeil to talk with owner, Bob, and he said he would not apologize and as I was speaking he hung up on me! If this is how they treat customers of 33 years I wonder how new customers are treated or did he keep raising the premiums because he thought I was stupid and lazy? Well, I finally got off my butt, woke up, made the change, & saved $.
