Zen Apollo

If I could give more than 5 stars i will! I lived in zen Apollo 3 years ago and my year living there was the best, great units and the gym/social room are amazing, on top of that the staff is one of the best and kind I've ever encountered Anupam, Yvonne and the Mexican maintenance (forgot his name 😂) were always more than happy to help us with everything with a big smile. Best management ever, i wish I could find a building management with the same kindness as them.

The building is alright, the front desk staff is very nice and responsive. Maintenance requests can take weeks or months to fulfill if you're not very on top of it. And since this is a very old building, you will have issues that need addressing. I will say, however, if it is an urgent issue the front desk are great and will assist in getting it addressed asap. The gym is pretty decently stocked, but much of the equipment is worn, some in bad condition and its location at the top of the building combined with its poor air condition mean it can get pretty warm during the day. The common area below the building is okay, but kind of inconveniently located. A lot of older reviews indicated a roach or pest problem. I had one roach when I moved in and have seen one bug since. I told them and they immediately set up a time for pest control to come address the problem. All in all, the building is decent and in a very nice location. If it weren't so expensive I think I would rate it four stars. The building is transitioning from subsidized to market-rate and there are a lot of older rules they haven't completely done away with that aren't applicable to an apartment. I think they're going to have to realize that an old building like this which needs some TLC can't exactly compete at the market-rate price level. UPDATE: Moving into Fall and being here a bit longer I have some updates: They don’t let you have full control over your AC/Heating. When october rolls around they turn off the AC, so even when those warm days come you don’t have a way to cool your apartment so it can get VERY toasty. Their piping is also very old and corrosive. So that’s an issue that potentially will cause a lot of leaky sink or bathroom issues

Zen Apollo is a nice lease building, well located, central, safe, and well served by public transit (Buses and metro stations are a few minutes' walk away). The management and the 24h front office are incredibly nice, respectful, FLEXIBLE, understanding, and helpful (A special shout out to Anupam and Evon!!). They will listen to any problem (or feedback) you might have and get it resolved asap. The management also keeps renovating / introducing new services where possible on a regular basis.

My studio is very comfy and I love it :) People of the front-desk and the managers are VERY friendly and they always help you :) I'm living here and let me say that this building has a great location. I live in a studio perfectly divided. Concierge and staff would spare nothing to make your life easier and even put a smile on your face. I feel very safe in the area, it's a good neighborhood to live. Inside the building you'll find the pool, a little rooftop, and I just can't complain about all the amenities! :) The building is pet friendly and has parking in the front of the building. The metro stations near from here are: Metro Center (about 10 min walking) and the Mt. Vernon (10 min walking). There are a little market called Street Market in the front of the building and if you want to walk more you'll have a Whole Foods supermarket (15 min walking) and Walmart (20 min walking). For me, the Zen Apollo has all that I was looking for! Five stars to Zen Apollo! :D
