If I could give 0 stars I would, and this place doesn't even deserve that. This is easily the worst place I've ever lived. They try to entice you with the utilities and heat and air built into the price, but don't fall for it. Either you'll be way too hot or freezing. My AC never works during the hot, sticky DC summers. My bedroom window also is sealed shut so I can't even get ventilation that way. Before I moved here, management was super engaging and responsive, but as soon as they handed me the keys it stopped. They literally did not even walk me to the apt to check out (and I had driven all the way out from WI just to do so). There are constantly roaches in my kitchen and bathroom, and management will say it's "thawing season" WHICH ISN'T A THING. This building has had at least five fires in the 15 months I've lived here and the last one almost killed me. My internal smoke alarms didn't go off and I woke up an HOUR after the fire had started to the smell of smoke. It took me longer to get out because the hallway exit signs were literally dangling by a wire from the ceiling. The front desk staff is the most incompetent people I've ever met- they gave away a bag of prescription medication that was sent to me from the local VA to another resident.

I looked at the website and the property said new appliances & walk-in closet. I went to view the property and there were no new appliances or walk-in closet. I asked for the phone number to corporate, if course know one answered and I was unable to leave a message. I gave them $150.00 holding fee and I was told its nonrefundable after 3 day. This property was false advertised on the website. They have mice & roaches. I'm taking them to court for my holding fee.

As a long time resident I can't speak highly enough about the staff and their efforts to make CPT a wonderful place to live.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. There was a fatal fire in this building in the early morning of February 22, 2022. Emergency exit signs were not illuminated and/ or were broken. Our in-unit smoke alarms did not go off. Numerous residents were woken up to smoke filling their units an hour after firefighters responded because their in-unit smoke alarms did not go off, and the fire alarms in the hallways are bells, and are not loud enough for residents to hear in their bedrooms while they are sleeping. Residents who were able to escape the building had a difficult time doing so, because by the time so many of us were alerted to the fire the smoke was so bad, the hallways were black and filled with smoke an we could not see where the exits were. We had to feel around and hope we were heading towards an exit, since they were not illuminated. Other residents were forced to stay inside their units for hours breathing in smoke as firefighters put out the fire, fearing for their lives. There are also multiple expired fire extinguishers in the hallways, and fire extinguishers not labeled at all. The first photo of soot and burn marks covering the walls is from almost A MONTH after the fire. Residents have been living on that floor breathing that in. The entire building still smells like soot, and it is visible in our vents which have not been cleaned. We are all still breathing soot and God knows what else in. There is also severe water damage in units and in the basement from firefighters that has not been fixed. This was also our third fire (that I know of) in two months. This building is not safe and management does not care that two of their tenants died in this building. They are already advertising new units for rent on the floor of the fire despite the visible damage.
