We have had two really traumatic experiences with our dog, starting with our littlest beagle tearing both his rear ACL's, a year apart from each other, which required extensive surgery and rehab. I can honestly say that we (Mickey and Us) would not have survived that experience without the love and support from Abbey hospital. The doctors are absolutely incredible! Their receptionists and staff are always welcoming, extremely knowledgeable, patient, and always the epitome of professionalism. They are always there to help us and answer our questions and concerns often accommodating with us with help after-hours and on the weekends. They treat our pets just like their own, often providing them with the love and comfort they need when we cannot be there. We KNEW we had found our forever Vet, when I arrived after a surgery and saw Mickey wrapped in warm blanket and surrounded by caring staff. Happy to report Mickey is walking like a champ now and it is all because of Abbey Hospital.

Do not take your cat to this hospital. I never got answers or diagnosis. Last year they said he had borderline thyroid issues. But they never followed up on that. This year, they didnt mention the thyroid issue, but claim he has mild anemia. So I try to get him tested for parasites. They only tested him for FIV and heartworms, with a technician. They schedule yet another appointment. But when my cat gets home from seeing the tech, he isnt acting like himself. 5 hours later, he is screaming in pain from an apparent injury to his leg. Both my boyfriend and I were with him from the time he left the vet until the time he started crying. Nothing had happened to him, other than going to this office. My boyfriend had to bring him back the next day, where they charged $500 for xrays to say, nothing is broken and we dont know what else to say. Heres some antibiotics and pain meds. I feel strongly that his injury happened at this office, but they will not take responsibility for it. I will not be returning. All around bad experiences.

My dogs go here for their vet needs as well as doggie daycare. The staff is absolutely amazing. My dogs love them, and that tells me a lot about how well they're treated when I drop them off.

Ms Sapiro – We understand that when your pet is sick or hurting it can be a very stressful time. We take your concerns extremely seriously, and reviewed the recorded video of Purrsey’s blood draw appointment. The recording shows the assistant using an industry standard restraint technique while another assistant drew blood from a back leg. After the blood draw, the assistant who was restraining cuddles Purrsey for a minute, gives him a kiss and places him back in his carrier. Per the information given to us by your boyfriend at the time of the exam Purrsey’s issue was with his front leg, and occurred after he had jumped off the bed that morning after being outside the night before. We performed x-rays which showed that the issue was not with the bone, but it did show inflammation in the soft tissue. We shaved Purrsey’s front leg to check for possible bites after it was mentioned that he was outside. We dispensed medication to reduce the inflammation and recommended you bring Purrsey back if there was no improvement, however the follow up appointment was cancelled by you. If it would offer you peace of mind, we welcome you in to review this video as well. If you’d like to discuss your case further, please give us a call at 757-471-1003 and ask to speak to a manager
