You don't have to stay here to appreciate the western grandeur of this wonderful old Inn! The restaurant is excellent -- running as a buffet for dinner right now due to staffing challenges. The gift shop is chock full of good quality items. The interior architecture is something every visitor should take the time to see! and don't forget to look for Bison grazing in the front yard!

Covid has caused a lot of pain to businesses, especially the National Parks. I have been going to the Old Faithful Inn for 60 years and my heart was broken to see systems which had to be put in place to protect the visitors. No bar, no sit down dining anywhere in the Park except Old Faithful Inn and Lake Hotel Buffett. The food was fair. Not like in the past. The entire 3 days in the Park was more impersonal than you can imagine. At Old Faithful Inn, However, the room in the East wing, overlooking Old Faithful geyser was modern, clean and comfortable. At $522 per night, most people are priced out. I was shocked and decided this is the last year I can spend that kind of money. Just a few years ago it was $275 per night and that was hard enough! Holy Cow. The bar was closed, the little store off the lobby which sells yogurt, drinks, ice cream, etc., had very limited times it was open and the amount of people around made the place feel like a ghost town. Normally that would be thrilling. However, with it came people avoiding each other, stressed out (but very nice) front desk clerks and gift shop workers. It didn't feel like Old Faithful Inn to me. Lake Hotel was worse. It was pretty sad. Knowing that 500,000 people have died of Covid-19 in the past 3.5 months is frightening. 1% of those deaths were people who had been vaccinated. Which means 450,000 who died were unvaccinated. This is affecting all of us. Yes your choice. But this is what you are doing to America. You should be the ones staying home. Get your darned vaccinations so we can get this country back on track. Can you imagine what would have happened if people had not gotten the Polio vaccine. Everyone opted in. It is eradicated.
