They claim to want to help women, families etc. but they really judged a friend of mine who had a job offer there and they rescinded because even though she was more than qualified, she temporarily did not have a license. My friend even went there and met with the new director there and was totally honest about everything and the director still offered her the position. A week before she was about to start and she had already given her two weeks at her old job, the new director sends her an email rescinding the offer because she temporarily did not have a license but was more than capable of getting to work everyday. She did this in an email which is so impersonal. Then she never replied to my friend when she asked to speak with her. JUDGMENTAL! People are honest and this lady that is running this place now is so non-empathetic, judgmental and a coward for not talking with my friend after the offer was offered and signed. Just a simple 'your not good enough' email with no response. She knew my friend quit her job for this job and now my friend is out of a job because of her judgmental attitude.

SEE FURTHER BELOW FOR AN EDIT TO THIS REVIEW!!! First review, when I was highly stressed out and didn't know how it all worked; Really nice people, and that's where the value stops. They give absolutely horrible advice! If you are nervous for your safety from your perpetrator, better have a plan b. This organization recommended I try to contact my perp with a police escort, to get some things from my apartment, then if that doesnt work, file an RO. Perp was confrontational and not cooperating, as expected, by then it was too late that day to file. Next day I was at the courthouse an hour before they opened, second person in line after I called this group for some info, my RO filing paperwork was in by 9. I heard NOTHING, ALL DAY, in regard to the status. Now it is past 5, and I won't know anything till Monday, I am homeless even though my appt is paid for for the whole month, and have to spend the weekend in fear. What they SHOULD have said is FILE THE RO FIRST! Get your protection established! SHAME on these people for suggesting an assailant in a domestic abuse/violence case may be cordial and cooperate. SHAME! It's better to be the assailant, than the victim, in this God-forsaken county and lost-in-space city of West Bend. Sad. Edit by Author 3/9/21: Ok, on the Monday following my filing, I was notified that my TRO was approved. Friends helped as much as they could. I feel bad for being salty, and I want to revise my review. I'm not removing what I said above ^ bc we can't take our words back, but we can apologize for our behavior, meaningfully, and continue with kindness. We can do that. I can do that, so I am. Here's what I have to say, now; This is very unfamiliar territory for me, as it may be for you. You likely are stressed out to the max and petrified. Trust me, just lean on these people. The results may not happen as fast as you feel like you need it, but just trust, and keep yourself safe. If you are unsure about any aspect, don't hesitate to call them (or the police if your safety is at risk). I promise you they will try to make sure you leave the call with a plan. Also use your local law enforcement when u feel unsafe. I had high expectations of the police, but it is the same sort of thing: they can only do so much, in the legal framework they operate in. Wow. When I saw them reacting inside their legal realm, they were... Just amazing. They school'ed me early on for asking things that were not in their realm, but were there for me when I needed them most, when my assailant's behavior put me in a potentially deadly situation. THAT is their realm and they are top notch in their realm. And you might feel like you hate to see your abuser be cuffed up and walked away like a criminal, but, if the police are taking them, they committed a crime. A crime! We have to report that. We have to stop being codependent with our abuser. These are their problems they must contend with. For now, yours is your safety and your own mental health. This stuff is awful. I, for one, am with you, and urge you to draw the line, now, no matter how foreign it feels... Take your power back. You have already started if you are reading this.
