You pay your bill even though you are going through financial difficulties and are put in collections. I requested that it be deleted on my credit reports and it is still there. No one will answer my calls now. Not happy with EMA or Americollect.

The doctor from this group was fine or good however you want to classify it. Nothing out of the ordinary. He was friendly with our kid, made a logical decision on how to proceed after diagnosis and explained his reasoning to us in a clear manner taking into consideration the child's well being. The doctor is the reason they get 3 stars. The billing area is the reason they lose 2 stars and why I am writing this short review. We are members of a medical cost sharing group and for the purpose of medical providers are considered self pay or uninsured. We still have to cover the first part of an overall medical incident but can avoid that "copay" if the discounts we work with a provider to obtain equals or exceeds the copay we are responsible for. We have to submit proof via an itemized bill that shows the discount reflected on it. This is all pretty standard stuff and nowhere we have ever spoken to has had any issue doing this until EMA. Not only did the person on the other end of the line act like she was moving mountains to give us a simple discount, because heaven forbid someone not want to pay more money than they need to, she outright said it was impossible to give an invoice reflecting the change. PHC uses Epic for most stuff and as a PHC partner it's pretty hard to believe EMA is not the same. Even assuming they don't and have their own software that interacts with PHC systems it is still pretty hard to believe that their billing system cannot print off a simple invoice reflecting discounts and such. She said at best they would have to have us pay then they could give a receipt showing the discount which would kind of like to avoid so I don't have to pay out of pocket then get reimbursed. She forwarded me to someone else's voicemail to inquire further but refused to give me the number for said person and said person has not returned my call. On top of that their billing cycle is just over 2 weeks from the date of the bill being printed. That includes the time to go through the mail so less than 2 weeks by the time it arrives. I HIGHLY doubt this place pays THEIR bills in 2 weeks. 30-60 days is pretty standard for billing cycles. We just went ahead and paid in full to avoid dealing with this place any further. Their customer service is atrocious, the person definitely needs to find another job as they clearly don't enjoy the one they are in. I can understand jobs you hate or dislike but don't take it out on customers. Certainly don't treat them with disdain as though you're doing them a favor charging them hundreds of dollars for 5 minutes of your time.
