I just dropped over $1,000 on a new TREK Bike after waiting several months in Anchorage Alaska. I called the store this morning to have it ready for pick-up and the service employee asked me if I wanted new pedals. He said the ones that were with the New TREK bike were "mediocre." Excuse me? I am paying $1,000 for a new TREK and it is equipped with Mediocre gear? Is the bike going to fall apart after I leave the showroom? I asked to speak to a manager and he deflected my comments stating that they sell other gear to "trick" the bike out such as clip in pedals and other items sold by the store. I asked him why the pedals don't work. To say the least the employees and manager at this store do not support TREK products and try to sell other gear to increase their sales rather than support the TREK products that they have a license to sell. They may want to go back and reeducate the employees and managers about how they speak to the public about their products. Telling me that my new TREK product is "MEDIOCRE" did not set well with me. I further told them that would ride the bike and see what things I wanted to after riding for some time. If you are going to sell MEDIOCRE products you might want to find a different line of work. I might buy a different brand such as a Cannondale next time because their employees stand behind their products.

Have 2 treks, a madone slr7 and roscoe 8. Just went through the warranty process for a drive train failure and the company is replacing the frame with the newest gen frame and upgraded paint plus the failed chainring(chain ring put a hole in the carbon). Glad to see the company has good values and forward thinking products.

This was our first and last time purchasing from Trek. We ordered Marlin 5 2022 for our son Birthday. Patiently waited months and a half for it. Bicycle came to our local distributor Cyclery. We pick it up from them last Saturday. But when we came home we noticed that saddle and handlebars are not original. Saddle is made by DDK some kind of Vietnamniese company and handlebars by who knows what. I’ve studied official Trek website and there is no information about them swiping parts. I called headquarters and a representative informed me that due to COVID shortages they swiping parts for not original analogs. BUYERS BE AWARE THAT IF YOU ARE PAYING FOR TREK YOU STILL CAN RECEIVE NOT ORIGINAL PARTS ON YOUR EXPENSIVE TRECK BICYCLE. Representative said that there is a disclaimer on the website about it. Guess what, there is none. So if you’re expecting your brand new Trek with Bontrager Arvada saddle which costs around $100 dollars expect that it will come with some cheap replica that you can’t even find anywhere that costs 20 dollars. Come on Trek, what kind of business is this? I understand that we are living in very hard situation right now. But people who is paying top dollars for high quality bicycles deserve to know that instead of original parts you are putting cheap replicas. Very upset and disappointed. Since bicycle sales on the rise you are making money at expense of your costumers who doesn’t have a clue as to what you are doing. Shameless way to do business. Would not recommend to anyone who wants to purchase from you.
