Beside the huge variety of rare, beautiful, winter hardy Hostas and numerous other perennials, they will advise you as to the sun/soil/moisture needs of every plant they sell. Ask "Mr. and Mrs. Horticulture", owners Kent and Muriel, about any plant grown in the Northern climates and they will help you select just the right plant for just the right location. As an added bonus, they also bake artisan whole grain (from flour 'ground' on site) breads in their wood fired oven. Plus being genuinely wonderful people, I say "what's not to love" about Kent's Wild Bird Store and Balsam Lake Bakery!?!

Very nice plants and products. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. He had trees, flowers, and fruit plants. Also, the property is marked and labeled with plant names so that you can see what they are and how they grow. He even helped by telling me the proper way to maintain the plants. Example I bought blueberries and he advised they like acid soil and can be mulched with pineneedles. That advice with help me to plant the plants correctly and keep them alive.
