I got fish there that were healthy so I put them in my quarantine tank just to make sure before I put them in my main aquarium and they all died in 4 days because they got split fins, fungal diseases, eye cloud, pop eye and ick. IT WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!! I recommend that everyone goes to The Fish Factory for a great fish that are healthy because Hoffer's was expensive for fish that die, no wonder they are going out of business!

I went in there yesterday to scope it out and look for some sand boas. After looking around and being disgusted at the 7 alligators in a tiny little pit, or the "rescue tortoises" with horrid shell conditions and no UV lights I decided to go take a look in the reptile areas. It appeared they were using some sort of mulch as substrate for most of the colubrid snakes. Then I found some sand boas in the same substrate.... I asked to take them out and the 16 year old kid if that wouldn't reach his hand in there so I did, the snake was so limp and dry, his skin was in such bad condition I was almost in tears, I told the kid and he said that he doesn't know anything about snakes and asked me what they should do. I flat out told him that snake was close to death. After I put that snake back I requested to take out all the other sand boas to see their condition, the one anery was ok, they had rough scales that were in this mulch as well. I found Mold while digging through the enclosures. The pac man tubs had visible mold in them. As a herp collector I am thoroughly disgusted in my experience there. If I were to go back there it would be just to RESCUE as many of the animals as I could afford.... (not too many, their prices are OUTRAGEOUS). Save your time and money...
