I have been using Beyond Compare forever, since version 2. I use it to compare directories and identify only the changed files for backup, either to another computer on my LAN or an FTP computer I run at a static IP address. Both functions have performed flawlessly for well over a decade. The daily use is check that you are working on the latest version, and that your local directories are reconcile with the cloud, do work, back up only what you did. There is synchronization that deletes remote files that you deleted, or leaves them. I have never had the crashes or problems the other reviewers mention, and I transfer up to 48 gB Blu-Ray movies. But I synch my whole digital life between machines with this. Over the years, I have set this up on over 20 machines, most of which are now recycled. Will shortly set up on a Linux machine for directory compares. Beyond Compare is literally the first thing I set up on a new computer. This invaluable service highlights only the different files between two locations. Cannot live without this product.

Good for small files and small amounts of files. Poor for large amounts of files.

I try to use Beyond Compare every day, but the damn thing crashes on all complex (read large) directory compares. Have reported the crashes for months. Have emailed support.... We're going nowhere with these issues.

I use Beyond Compare every single day and I LOVE it! It makes my life so much easier. Scooter Software, you guys rock! Keep up the amazing work :-D
