My husband and I decided to try Blue Marlin tonight during Restaurant Week. It was an excellent experience from start to finish. The owner greeted me by name and seated us immediately. Daniel talked to us about the special menu and took our drink orders. My NZ Sauv. Blanc and my husband's Pinot Noir were quite good. A lovely young lady brought us fresh, warm bread and honey butter, (and offered more throughout the meal) just before our soup arrived. The Thai Curried Crab Soup is delightful! The Grilled Cedar Salmon was cooked perfectly and was a very generous portion. My husband loved his Shrimp Diablo Pasta which had just the right spicy kick for something named Diablo. Both the Triple Chocolate Torte and the Key Lime Pie were beautifully plated as well as delicious. Daniel took excellent care of us - always very attentive, but never intrusive. My water glass was never empty. We look forward to another visit very soon!

The Blue Marlin has officially closed it's doors after 29 years on June 30th, 2015. A new restaurant has made a home and is currently under renovations called Hamilton's On The Square.

Blue Marlin-WE WILL MISS YOU! It's very sad to hear that Madison's famous seafood restaurant Blue Marlin will be closing June 30th as the owner has decided its time to retire and sell the restaurant. Blue Marlin is a rarity among Madison's fine dining in that it offers arguably the best seafood in town without the pretentious aura surrounding many of Madison's upscale restaurants. It also has a great view of the capital with beautifully handcrafted Blue Marlin stained glass windows. Truly sad to see it go.
