Great group of people to work with. They listened to the concerns about my son and came up with a treatment plan. He does speech therapy via zoom which I appreciate during these Covid 19 times.

If you get the opportunity to receive services through the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic, wed highly recommend it. We were fortunate enough to receive services for our son. Our son was born with a form of spina bifida, and as any parent would we set out to find him the best services available to us. Knowing that learning might take a little longer, both academically and socially was a hard pill to swallow at first. Over 3 years, we received services multiple times a week focusing not only on his speech, but also his cognitive and social skills. These skills are something most of us might take for granted, but to see your child struggle with the complexities of communication, realizing the painful comparisons and bitter frustration is heart-breaking. The approach and efforts the clinical team took allowed our son to gain the skills necessary and the confidence needed to start communicating with his peers, and feeling comfortable to do so. We still have a long way to go, but I can certainly attribute a lot of this success from the early and endless efforts of the clinical staff and students each semester. You can certainly tell they love what they do, and pour their heart into it.

The clinicians and clinicians in training are always phenomenal. They ask questions, they listen to feedback and collaborate with the parents to learn what is best for their patients.
