I lived in The Diplomat from 07-09, one year in a 1 Bedroom and the next in a 2 Bedroom. Both years were the best experience I have had in renting. Tom and Jill were always available to help if needed, and were even there just to chat if time and responsibilities allowed. Even Tom's father (whose name I can't remember) was there in the fall to help with the plethora of people moving in and out. That's what comes from a family run business I suppose. The apartments themselves are very well laid out and seem more spacious than the actual square footage, which is already sufficient. Most of the apartments had been remodeled or were in the process when I moved in, and it looks very nice. It's not granite counters or anything like that, but the cabinets and countertops are in very good condition and you don't feel dirty using them as you do in some other establishments. One thing that I do not see listed on the website is the fact that the apartments can be partly furnished if needed, or at least that was an option when I lived there. This was very helpful, as I was able to use the end tables and lamps Tom provided. Just one less thing to find at crate and barrel or craigslist. If you couldn't tell, I can't praise Derr Apartments highly enough. Rent with confidence!!
