Kaplan Real Estate Education

Beware of their continuing ed courses - took one with repetitive material with little value and then a trick exam at the end .

I took the Minnesota to Wisconsin Real Estate course. I called because I didn't have the course completion certificate available to download - it just said "under review". I needed it to take the test, so I called Kaplan. The rep emailed it to me without question. Pearson Vue accepted it as verification for me to take the Wisconsin test. White applying for my Wisconsin license, I come to learn the only certificate that I have is the one giving me continuing education credit for Minnesota. When Wisconsin told me they needed the certificate showing the 13 hours required to get my license, I called Kaplan again because it still wasn't available on my Dashboard. It turns out there is another form that you need to fill out that Kaplan's website doesn't bother to direct you to when trying access your certificate, nor did the instructor mention it, nor did the original rep I contacted. At this point I have wasted three weeks and the rep I just talked to informed me that once I submit the form it will take up to TWO MORE WEEKS before the certificate will be available to me. I needed to be licensed in Wisconsin ASAP. Thank you for wasting my time Kaplan. I think I'll get my continuing ed elsewhere from this point on.

I signed up for this course for the learn at your own pace aspect & for scheduling issues. I completed the real estate principles unit in 9 days on 12/17. Called and earliest testing available was 1/4, I called back and was able to reschedule on 12/29. I passed and was told I would get my certificate that evening. As on 1/5 I still do not have my certificate. I have emailed them several times with zero response. I have called them on 12/30, 12/31, 1/4 and several times on 1/5. I have spoken with 4 different people and received different answers from each one of them. I have 2 different cases open with them. None of them could give me a definitive answer as to when I would get my certificate. I have been told that talking with a supervisor is not possible. I cannot apply with the state to take the national test until I can send in a copy of my certificate showing that I passed the course. When you take a class you have a reasonable expectation that you will be able to take the exams shortly after completing the class - while the material is fresh in your mind
