Our dog was in distress and when we called the refused claiming they were full. They are 15 minutes from our home but we needed to take her 1 hour away. She died 1/2 way there. Please do not claim you are an emergency clinic. We in Janesville that will take emergencies.

Vet tech with the sparkly crocs choked my dog with a slip lead. And then proceeded to drag him across the back hallway. HORRIBLE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR PETS!!!! STAY AWAY FROM VCA JANESVILLE!!!

Spent over six hours at this "emergency" center. Five and a half in the exam room waiting to be seen. There was only one vet on staff on a holiday weekend. The vet took a biopsy from my pet that I did not authorize and then insisted that I pay to have it analyzed. I declined the analysis and it was still in my bill. The tech argued with me about it and I just paid for it, as I had been there going on seven hours. The "workup" was presented like a sales pitch. I felt like I was being held hostage to receive care for my pet. The vet was trying to upsell unnecessary procedures. I will never go here again. I would caution anyone needing emergency treatment for a pet to look elsewhere.

DO NOT CALL JUST GO IF IT'S AN EMERGENCY! I made the mistake of calling first, as I have been asked to do, and was turned away. Saturday night around 10pm I called them telling them our dog was having trouble breathing, couldn't move, barely opening her eyes, and you could just tell she was struggling to breathe. I was told they were at capacity, couldn't take anymore patients, and they close at 1am. I tried to get her to make an exception so, the lady put me on hold to check with the doctor and when she came back she said the doctor said they couldn't take anymore. We were told to go to Rockford or Middleton. Rockford didn't answer the phone. Middleton was at capacity as well and when she asked the doctor there we were told to get her there as soon as we could. About halfway up to the Middleton location she stopped breathing. I cannot wrap my head around how they can turn away someone who has a pet that is having trouble breathing.
Maybe if I just showed up with her they would have seen how bad she was and would have taken her. At minimum she definitely would have had a better chance if she was seen within 15 mins of my first call.
