Last time we used this company for our central air fuse. They replaced the fuse but installed it upside down. Obviously the central air was still not working and he said we would have to replace the entire unit. Someone would be calling me with the options/price quotes and to schedule the return trip to install. After a few days I called them to check on everything. No one knew who I was or anything about replacement order with installation. She said it would take a few days to get the quotes and call me back for scheduling. The install would take several hours but they didn't have any appointments open for several weeks.
We decided to get a 2nd opinion.
Called a different company who came out and showed us the problem. He flipped it over and everything was working fine. He felt bad about having to bill me for a full hour and he essentially fixed it in under 5 minutes. Then he proceeded to clean the entire unit outside and recharged it. Then he even cleaned the furnace inside as well as showed us how to do it ourselves.
The next day I called to inform Hoffman's what allvwas said and done. We were still billed for the part which was fine but they also charged us for the full hour and the tech travel fee.
