Aurora Health Center

I have been going to Aurora for a number of years and have always had a positive experience. My doctor is very friendly, thorough and caring. Despite other people's comments I have never had an issue with reception, they have always been friendly in my experience.

For many years I have been with Aurora. I have a great doctor just the sad part is the accounts department. So November 2021 I had an appointment and my medical insurance covered the appointment just to find out in August 2022 "yes 9 months later" they did not cover $82.00. September 13 "1 month later" I get a call from a collection agency to inform me that Aurora handed me over for not paying!!!! Yes they gave me 1 month!!!

They are adequate for basic care, but getting care for actual health issues is like pulling teeth. Things I have noticed over the years going here: - You have to beg for the treatment you need if your issue isn't obvious after a basic physical. - They don't explain their conclusions well and they are antagonistic when you question their conclusions. - If you do manage to convince the GPs to get a referral to a specialist for any issue, the GPs could not care less about your issue after you get that referral. - Their behavioral health department will *give you* stress and anxiety. - There is *only one* psychiatrist that they can refer you to who is VERY quick to diagnose every issue you have as ~anxiety~ despite the conclusions from other, more qualified doctors. RED FLAGS GALOR For the good of your health, go to another health care provider.

The office staff are pretty nice - especially the staff at the Behavioral Health desk. Unfortunately, it can be tricky to find an appointment opening, but they always do their best to get you in if its an emergency. Theres also quite the waitlist if youre a new patient for behavioral health and my doctor cancelled appointments often with less than 24 hr notice. Seems pretty nuts considering they charge you if you cancel on such short notice.
