    Disappointing. As you can see in two other reviews, when there is an issue, Kathy blames anyone, but herself. Mistakes and miscommunications may happen, it's how the business owner responds that makes all the difference. Her photos may be nice, but I would not work with some again who was so unprofessional. There are so many other photographers out there that offer amazing photos and customer service and I will always seek out BOTH.

    Original review in 2018: DO NOT give your business to this person. We ordered group and individual prints for my daughter's dance recital. Were charged $58.50 on June 7th (per our bank records). We never received the product and it is suspected that the individuals ordered were never even taken. When addressed, I was met with excuses as to why it wasn't her fault. She did originally say that she could send the group photo and refund for the individuals or take new individuals if she could not find them. In further conversation when checking to see if the individuals were found, she made a RACIST comment ("If your husband learned to speak English") that is being reported with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and being addressed separately in accordance to Civil Rights Compliance. However, we did not receive an update as to the status of my child's pictures as she hung up on me before providing a resolution to this billing/customer service issue. Separate from the complaint with the WDHS, we have been charged for a service we did not receive and met with highly unprofessional customer service. UPDATED 3/8/22 to respond to the comments the owner just provided today FOUR years after the incident. Note, Kathy does not deny the comment she made about my husband nor the charge for the service we hadn't received. My original post states she makes excuses. Her reply to this review reflect that same behavior four years later. No apologies, no accountability, no personal responsibility, no attempt to reconcile. Kathy is the ONLY person EVER in which I have reported to the BBB and Department of Human Services for a Civil Rights violation. I find it interesting that she notes my husband's "PERFECT" English which doesn't match her original and RACIST comment that my husband should "learn to speak English". BUT ALSO, my husband, while proficient in English, doesn't have perfect English (I know- we've been married 12 years), which may have created a miscommunication that day, but he is not dumb, nor incompetent and her statement alluded to such a belief. While we have not attended the dance studio for two years now, but previously, I have actually commended the dance studio on their inclusivity and support when our family was faced with Kathy's comments, so her comment that I am NOW pulling the "race card" on the studio, is a lie. I haven't had any contact with the studio in 2 years. Additionally, my Facebook is private- her comments about seeing my page are a lie. She does not have access to what I post on my page. Finally, a really great way to spot red flags is when a person feels they need to convince others they are "not a racist" by saying it AND they mention that they know a person of color. It doesn't matter if your "male bilingual dancer from New York" was there. If he wasn't available to offer bilingual services specifically, then native Spanish speakers who may be more comfortable to conduct business in Spanish would not have just approached him to translate. This then leads me to think that Kathy's mindset is that if a person "looks" Latino they MUST be bilingual. Assuming that is stereotyping and racist and inappropriate. I don't know what compelled Kathy to comment after 4 years- as we have moved on and thought very little of her since then- honestly only hoping that she had grown from this experience. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that has happened. Kathy, I recommend that you take some time to reflect. Finally, I am issuing an informal cease and desist of your libel, as the comments you made of me are false, but presented as fact. ALSO, I will be contacting the dance studio to make sure they are not spreading slanderous information. If you made that up as well, which I believe you did, since I haven't spoken to them in 2 years- you are putting their company at risk as well. If you do not remove your comment within 24 hours, I will file another complaint through the BBB and the Department of Health and Human Services to file another Civil Rights complaint.

Photography by Kathy is a home town full service portrait studio in southeastern Wisconsin. I have 20 years of portrait photography experience photographing high school seniors, weddings, engagement portraits, families, business portraits, special occasions, sports, dance, and pets. Being a photographer is what I’ve always dreamed of and it’s absolutely great to enjoy my work everyday. I think my passion for photography shows in my work from the fun photography sessions to the friendly customer service. After all, I am the photographer, customer service representative, owner and day to day operations manager so I have a very big stake in doing the best job possible for you.
