Never again! Hired them to install a complete new heating and ac service for a remodel. Lead installer was rude and reckless. He managed to destroy a new floor that had thick, protective cardboard on it. Owner is unresponsive and avoided my calls. Another employee threw 6" galvanized duct off of the balcony to the ceramic tile below. 24 hour service line is a recorded message. Machine screws and debris were everywhere. Complete chaos. Had them install whole home combination propane boiler back in 2020 for over $10K. Was ok but was not noticing a reduction in propane use through two winters. Had them come back out when I realized one of my in-floor water loops was circulating when thermostat was off. Tech was out and identified the entire system they put together for me nearly two years prior was all wrong and was causing that loop to circulate hot water. Correction was made and I was not charged. Since all of this I have recommended their service to my family etc... This last weekend I installed a new range in my kitchen and had to add a line to my propane 'manifold'. All went well until I did a leak detection on the high pressure side of my propane supply. Turns out I have had a propane leak in my basement for possibly up to 3 years! Since this was on the high pressure side and would have to turn off my main supply I called Dirks to come take a look and deal with it. Told me up front the service call would be $140. Ok, they came out and diagnosed exactly where I told them a leak was and confirmed it would have been them that made that connection. The flare fitting was misaligned and apparently never checked for a leak. Service tech shut off supply re-aligned fitting and sealed it up properly. Still got a $300 bill from their mistake. And of course now they require payment on the spot because I am sure they have had to deal w/ other quality issues. They are not a horrible business but with all the issues and headaches I have had to deal with because of them I am done and will not pay them a dime more for anything. We started out with Dirks Comfort Club when we bought the house two years ago. The Comfort Club provides annual maintenance and priority repair service for a small monthly fee, which they tell us will never go up in price for us. The office always calls us to schedule our appointments and the techs are great. They check out the equipment and always share tips on how to keep things working well and keep our heating and cooling costs down. Whenever I have a heating or cooling question, I just call the office and the service managers patiently provide all the information I need to know. This past summer we replaced our 17+ year old furnace and a/c. The sales rep was great in helping us select the right equipment, the install went very smoothly, and they have followed-up at the 6-month mark to make everything is operating as it should. In short, I trust Dirks to do right by me and I highly recommend them!
