New patient who went to a doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire to get my basic medications filled and they wont renew them, because they like using your body as a guinea pig to pick and choose which medications might work better than the ones that already work. The horrible bedside manner displayed by the doctor was disgusting. Tell you to fill out forms in advance, but doesnt even give you the proper forms to have your medical records sent over. They might be good at treating rare cancers and diseases, but their regular family practice doctors are mediocre at best.

Ive had very good, competent and caring physicians at Clairemont and Luther facilities. Good experiences with nurses, receptionists, technicians, x-rays, mammograms and my MRIs. Doctors are overloaded and it can take a few months to get in to see your doctors if it is not for your yearly visits, but not the doctors faults. Behavioral health is a different matter. It can take months to get in to see a therapist. With so many stressors in the world today, it would be good if more mental health people could be hired. I can only imagine the stress on the people in this department. Otherwise, still a very good health facility with top-notch medical care.

Mayo's initial phone answering system was so impersonal, long wait, and confused. the person asked my first call was so un personable and showing very little passion and cold about her job. she is in the wrong job and place, if this is how she acts.

There are many things I'm extremely disappointed with when it comes to our medical system in the United States. But I gave Mayo Clinic a little more of my trust than I should have. 1) They are not transparent when it comes to side effects to certain medications, and supposedly they aren't allowed to talk about side effects over the phone according to the nurse I talked to through the nurse line. 2) Not just Mayo but also other clinics and hospitals will often prescribe medicines for larger doses than they should or a different medication based on a person's insurance despite the doctor themselves knowing what would actually work, but government regulations keep them from treating people properly. 3) The Majority of people who work in our healthcare systems don't really care about the patients because when I bring it up to them that they make money off of getting people sicker thanks to these government regulations, and that if they know these things, why not just do what's right. The one response that I keep receiving from medical professionals is "that's how I get paid". So clearly money is more important to them than any individual's health. So what we really need is for the government to stop sticking their hands in places meant for healing and for medical professionals to openly defy orders, because we as people ought to do the right thing, not grudgingly do the wrong thing to get some pieces of paper with a dead man's face. And if we can't find enough people to do the right thing without being paid, then maybe we should also get rid of the monetary system as well as our government.

Has gone down hill steadily in the last 5 years. Need to attract and keep more experienced and qualified providers, especially for specialty areas. Many have left or retired and not been replaced . Billing issues are consistent with creative coding that results in something not being covered by insurance when it should be. Lots of room for improvement.
