I am deeply disappointed and appalled by the treatment my brother, David Rose, received at the hands of Amanda Skorr, a public defender for Winnebago County and also listed as a current attorney for Fox River Law LLC. Over two years ago, my brother, who has no criminal history or drug use, experienced a severe grand mal seizure in his own home. Instead of receiving help and understanding, he was falsely arrested and subjected to a series of injustices that have left our family reeling. The ordeal began when a concerned neighbor, mistaking the noise of David's seizure for a break-in involving an ex-tenant, called the police. Upon arrival, the officers not only failed to identify David correctly but also handcuffed him shortly after his seizure, forcibly removed him from his own home, and took him to the hospital for a drug evaluation against his will. Despite his innocence and medical history, David was coerced into a diversion program under the assurance that his charges would be dropped. However, just one day before completing the program, he was informed that he hadn't met all the requirements. This sudden reversal left David in a state of confusion and anxiety. Throughout this ordeal, Amanda Skorr, the public defender assigned to David's case, exhibited a complete lack of empathy, professionalism, and respect for his rights. She repeatedly referred to him as a "creep" and dismissed his concerns about his civil rights being violated. Instead of advocating for him, she pressured him into accepting terms that were not communicated clearly and misrepresented the consequences of his choices. Amanda's actions were not only unethical but also had severe consequences for David. Despite being assured that he would be sent to Winnebago Mental Health Facility, he was instead taken to Winnebago County Jail. This blindsiding maneuver not only shattered David's trust but also placed him in a potentially dangerous situation at Medona, a facility with a notorious history of abuse and neglect. It is clear that Amanda Skorr failed to uphold her duties as a public defender and instead contributed to the system's failure to protect innocent individuals like my brother. Her actions were manipulative, dehumanizing, and devoid of any sense of justice or compassion. This is not the end of our fight for justice for my brother. I am committed to continuing this battle by making his documents, videos, and evidence public. David deserves justice, and I will not rest until accountability is ensured. It is crucial to protect him from being forcibly medicated against his religious beliefs and from experiencing further harm due to his long medical history of seizures caused by years of pharmaceutical medication.

Jason Farris showed himself to be completely incompetent when fighting for my freedom. He seems more interested in glancing at his laptop like he's actually coming up with a defense when in the end he almost always agrees with the district attorney. Afraid to call witnesses or do any real investigation either on his own or by hiring a private investigator. Two thumbs down.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Chad, a lawyer that works at this firm, was the probate lawyer for my Grandma's estate and failed to file any paperwork on time and had no idea what he was doing. He stated to my mother that he knew probate law, but refused to do what he needed to as the lawyer by the deadlines, as well as refusing to answer phone calls and texts and provide information when requested. He had no idea on timelines and which paperwork was needed and could barely help with getting anything filed. He also withheld important documents from my grandma's death and estate when requested to return them. After causing extreme legal issues for my mother he stated, "this is a learning curve for me" - if that was true, why would you tell someone you could provide them a service you knew nothing about? He's very disorganized, rude, and unhelpful. He's cost my family time, money, and caused unneeded stress on all of us. The other people that work here were incredibly unhelpful every time I tried calling or going to the office they were either closed during business hours or refused to answer questions. I would not recommend this man as a probate lawyer, or a lawyer for anything honestly and I would not recommend this firm to anyone due to lack of help and attention to clients.
