The Anvil Restaurant

The food was horrible! I had Alabama Chicken BBQ. It was burnt and so dry it was like jerky and next to impossible to chew. The BBQ sauce had a mayo taste, not a tomato taste. I gagged when I tried it. They were out of baked beans.. French fries were okay. Not very hot. Our waitress was not very warm or friendly. The BBQ oven was parked on the street in front of the restaurant. The cook stood out there smoking a cigarette. We won't be going back.

Beautiful restaurant at Harper's Ferry VA, very reminiscent of Upper Bucks County PA...excellent burger!

Great atmosphere and location. Got the crab cake sandwich and, I'm pretty sure my soul left my body for a moment, because that's what heaven tastes like. My wife got the smoke pork. I smoke a lot of meat and usually don't care for what most restaurants pass as smoked, but this was spot on and easily the best commercial pulled pork I've ever had. And the pickles. The pickles are the best pickles I've ever had. Worth every penny and if I ever find myself within an hour of this area, I'll be back. Only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is because the service, while super helpful and friendly, was slow considering we were one table out of a handful there at the time.

The salmon dish was very good. Highly recommended.
