Stop sending people to places like this. They are ill equipped and just plain negligent in taking care of people. Its all about money. They pay the aides nothing so its no wonder that the care is inadequate. Ill see EmpRes in court. The pictures are 2 days after my mother was discharged to home and the physical therapist basically blamed her for not participating in her therapy. Why do you think that is? Pathetic.

My wife has been here for almost a year. For the most part things have been excellent. But the last three weeks, during an ownership change, the level of care has drastically fallen. The worse example is how we were treated when I called the nursing staff to report she was in extreme pain and duress (yelling and crying out for help) from an unknown pain. The nurse who answered was very curt saying, "We are in a meeting," and hung up on me. Not only is that very rude, it is extremely disconcerting for a husband who is in fear for my wife's safety (she has a heart condition and is in there for a stroke, pain and duress could conceivably aggravate these conditions to the point of death). Repeated attempts to reach the nurses station failed as they have caller ID and were obviously ignoring both me and her. So after almost an hour of being ignored I called 911 and an ambulance arrived, assessed her, and took her to the hospital ER. She had sustained a fractured hip and tore a muscle, her pain was real. That's just one example of the downward turn of care in the last three weeks. As I said, this place was great up to the last few weeks. I hope it improves, I still gave it a 4 star because the majority of our time there under Empress was better than the three other nursing homes we've been in over the past four years. I will update as things move forward. 8-18-2021 Edit: After some thought, the 4 star was too high.

The staff has been great training me. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always have a great attitude. Management is there to help staff when needed and residents receive great care.

My mother was there for an extended time after a fall. Nothing about this situation was easy ESPECIALLY during COVID. The staff, who I never got to meet in person, were always, always helpful in providing updates and helping me with my concerns. A big shout out to Chelsea the social worker, Ryan the nutritionist, Amy the activities director, her physical therapists and everyone else I talked to or who helped my mom during this very stressful time. Our family so appreciates everyone's dedication. My mom is doing quite well thanks to all of your help.
