On The Border

The food was very good and authentic. It's not your typical Mexican so don't expect that. The staff was friendly and nice. We had the restaurant to ourselves but it was 10 pm at night. The manager came over and introduced himself. He was very nice. We would come back again as we are from out of town.

Super nice and professional staff, great salsa, and pleasing decor. The Food? That was, without doubt, and I really really do means this, the smallest portion of anything I ever ordered in a restaurant ever. 2 dinners, teeny-weeny in size, a beer and a margarita, FORTY BUCKS! Oh Hell No! We wouldn't go back there again NO MATTER WHAT, EVER! Sorry, it's just true.

I have been going here off and on since the place opened having moved recently form Seattle was excited to see On The Border was opening. I thought it would be a welcome addition to Vancouver..While the food has been mostly good with a couple exceptions the staff is absolutely the most unprofessional unattentive bunch I have ever seen. I went there tonight with a couple friends to sit in the bar area. As usual there were at least 4 or 5 dirty empty tables surrounding my cleaned table minus silverware which is another story having to ask for silverware after your food arrives seems really lame there was spilled food on the floor and the wait staff as usual walking by and not making eye contact. I had to hold my hand (up after waiting several minutes for the waitress who kept disappearing into the bathroom) to get someones attention to get a second drink. I could rattle on and on about the customer service here which is pretty non-existent, My basic point is the manager should train these Vantucky staff they hire and perhaps their business would improve. I don't see how this place can stay open with the incompetent unaware staff. The bartender who has been there for years has the personality of a wet noodle never smiles never acknowledges your presence have to almost beg for a drink. I hope management reads this review and puts some fire to the wait staffs ass or this place will shudder up. I would like to go there weekly but the experience leaves such a bad taste I rarely go there anymore. I pug my noise and give it a 2

Beautiful atmosphere, great food and the server was very friendly! Will be back for sure :)
