Local contemporary music group--has shifted lately towards the same Portland and identity politics-focused programming of many of our other cultural institutions (a real shame since it until recently was more intellectually adventurous and creative)

Third Angle offers an amazing variety of new music experiences, crossing genres lines, exploring many topics, collaborating with fantastic local composers as well as national stars, and mentoring emerging talent. The performers are top notch artists, the leadership is bold and personable. If you attend multiple concerts you will have a range of experiences, and some will resonate with you more than others--and, like walking through the galleries of a contemporary art museum, that is the point! The concerts surprise, challenge, delight, and so much more. They are unique and memorable experiences that expand our understanding of what contemporary classical music is and can be. I'm on board 100%!
