Having become a CHI patient, I switched sleep apnea equipment providers from Apria to Franciscan, CHI's in-house supplier. I placed an order in early May, 2021, for a new Res Med face mask. The woman I spoke with was annoyed because it was not an item that Franciscan stocks. But she said she would special order it.
Three weeks later I called back to check why I had not received the item. I spoke with a different person this time and she informed me that nothing was on order for me. She was more helpful and I expect the order will actually get placed this time. I will update this posting as the saga unfolds.
I was of the opinion initially that no medical equipment supplier could possibly be less user friendly than Apria. But now I'm not so sure. I have had poor service from Apria but they never simply stiffed me the way that Franciscan did. Apria clearly carries a larger inventory than Franciscan, so that is a factor to consider. It appears that Franciscan mainly carries Respironics gear, so if you order that you should be OK. But if you request something they don't stock, your order may end up like mine -- in the waste basket.
