Sad Macy's is closing down. The employees were a great help & i wish them nothing but the best.

Beware when making returns! I purchased an item online, and didn't like how it looked. Rather than sending the item back in the mail, I opted to return the garment in-store because I thought that would be faster and easier. The cashier took my garment and couldn't scan the return slip - none of the barcodes worked for her. She manually processed my return, and handed me a receipt. She might have been new, because she was quite flustered and the transaction took about 30 mins with customers piling up behind me. When I got home I looked at the receipt, and it was for the wrong amount - about $10 short of what I paid. I thought maybe they were docking me for shipping fees, and was frustrated but I let it go. After about 2 weeks with no credit to my PayPal account, I contacted the number on the receipt. She told me it could take up to 10 business days, so I waited. On the 10th business day I received a "Merchandise Only Certificate" and was confused - that's not a refund. I called again and the guy told me that's what they issue for damaged goods. I returned a 100% perfectly fine garment, with tags on, and was supposed to be issued a full refund to PayPal - even the first lady I talked to said this. Needless to say, I called again and simultaneously opened a PayPal dispute for the transaction. Document EVERY conversation you have, and look up Macy's return policy. The dispute did the trick - I got the refund I deserved today, and I'm shredding the merchandise only certificate because I'll never support Macy's again. Good luck and always check your receipts - don't leave the store without your garment unless you're sure they're actually refunding your money.
